I do wanna see more invisibles stuff.
But it wasn't exactly a linear narrative the first time around, so we really don't need to see what happens afterwards.
Personally I would love to see other soldiers in the invisible army, working throughout time towards the conclusion we have all read. Stories throughout history, period pieces. GM once said that the Invisibles was gonna give him to chance to write about everything.
I was thinking of a 50's era, US-based arc looking at the straight-up citizens (including ladies in flower print dresses and ugly glasses - straight out of a Larson's Far Side cartoon)experiencing the UFO mania of the time (for the first time); fighting against McCarthy-era paranoia, clandestine Feebs in long dark coats and stetsons, etc; expanding their minds and experiencing the feeling that they were changing the world forever, moving towards unimaginable liberty, and transcendent society.
(The fact that I am a cynic at heart, and the character I most identified with was Sir Miles doesn't mean I won't enjoy them trying (and failing, hahaha))
I mean the x-files, and parts of Invisibles drew themselves straight from those fears (now cultural icons).
Or is that an argument against focusing on that period? |
