Cleaning LCD Monitors

So I've got a small spot of chicken Korma (yes, chicken Korma) on my LCD screen on my computer and I'm wondering how to clean it off. Water and a cloth? Or will that damage it?

That would be fine, although just use a damp (rather than a soaked) cloth so that water doesn't dribble into the casing.

I get curry on my Mac all the time, for some reason.

I get tomato sauce on mine. For some reason it's only when I'm eating something tomato-related, never otherwise. Can't quite work it out.
