Hoover Oover

Somewhere out there in the big world, possibly in Japan, there is a person or band by the name of Hoover Oover. He, she, it or they Rock, but also appear to be untraceable. This fills me with sadness; does anyone know anything about Hoover Oover? Anything at all? Has anyone else even heard of them, or did I possibly imagine them up in my own head? Say it ain't so...

I saw them on that Adam and Joe go to Japan (or whatever it was called) show, once. So they definitely exsist!

Unfortunately, I also had no luck in tracking downa anything by them. And more unfortunately they had another great band on that show, with a name I've never been able to remember. Alas, it may now be lost in the mists of time.

Doozy, the only thing I can think of is to email the director of the show, Becky Martin listed here on imdb and see if she can help you.

She seems to do things for the BBC, so you could try the generic BBC email format. I think it's firstname.lastname@bbc.co.uk but it's pretty easy to find out. Alternatively you can register for the free 14 day trial of imdb Pro and get her contact details off that.

hoover oover on indies navigator. as far as i can tell, they're a "retro band with tight cutting", whatever that means, from tokyo, more exactly shimokitazawa. the page has got their discography too. if you have any questions, ask.

Oh My God. There's stuff for sale there any everything.

Roberk, my computer can't cope with any of the text on that site - I imagine because it's in Japanese. Are you able to read it? Can you tell me, are those albums for sale I see, and how much are they, and will they deliver to the UK?

the cds range from 1500 to 2000 yen, 100 yen being approximately 0.52 pounds. t-shirts start at 2500 yen.

i don't think they deliver to anywhere outside japan though, at least i couldn't find anything about international fares.

amazon.co.jp do deliver, and they have some hoover oover stuff too. i wish i could link you directly to the search results page, but they seem to have some kind of no-refer script. if you can manage to install japanese characters on your computer, search for hu-ba-o-ba- in katakana (careful: the third item on the results page is by a different artist - konrad oberhuber).

prices are more or less the same as on the other page.

here's amazon's shipping rates in english.
