Opps!!

This is just an idea (feel free to tell me to f@$k off).

Just been looking at the temple thread in Conversation and one of the things that stood out was the people saying that they were put off by the technical terms and impenitrable use of language (something i would agree with). So here it goes:

All new posts for the next month have to be written in as simple, accessable language as possible. Now this may not always be possible so maybe these 'easy access' posts could be somehow marked for identification.

What do people think?

Are people really that lazy?

If you're reading the Film & TV forum and someone refers to mise en scene, or diegetic sound, is it really too much to ask that people use the internet they are already plugged into to just *look it up* if they find it a bit confusing?

The fact that this might lead to the realisation that what they are trying to find out about, gematria, say, is an entire filed of study should not prevent them from at least getting an idea of what the word refers to...

Otherwise we all may as well just stick to baby talk and single syllable words. This is a forum for discussing matters relating to spirituality and religion and energetic practices related to these things...if terms used require explanation, it's not rude or impolite to, within the thread, just ask...

I get what you're saying here, Opps!!, and in principle it's a great idea. In a public forum like this one, pointless evasiveness and deliberately obfuscatory language have no place at all, and jargon should be kept to a minimum.

But it seems to me that the majority of our frequent flyers are already aware of this. If a term comes up that's not familiar, one can ask for a definition in that thread, go over to the magic questions thread, or refer to the wiki.

The Temple has a very broad remit and those of us here have all got our different areas of expertise and areas of ignorance. We all need to ask for help and explanation at one time or another.
