Is the pyjama-Batgirl like seven years old, or seventeen? I'm suddenly unsure whether I should find it innocently cute, or mock-coyly sexy.

I think it's someone trying to 'do' cute, rather than going for anything shady.

For a good Batgirl story, maybe check the comic of the Animated series - some of the freshest and rewarding Bat-stories of the last decade, with beautiful 'pop' art and shorn of messy continuity. And certainly rape free.

What I mean is that I assumed it was a little girl, but then realised her head has "adult" proportions to her body (ie. it's smaller than a kid's would be) and that some of those scratchy lines seem to indicate cleavage.

The same artist did another (unfinished) design with what was clearly a post-pubescent Batgirl. It may have been meant to be the same one, but I like this one better as a seven-year-old.

Fie on Green Lantern. BATGIRL ONLY. The word 'Batgirl' has all the information you need--I don't think most superhero names make sense unless you already have read the comic (or seen the TV show or whatever). Well, that, and it's going to take me forever to get around to drawing my bald tattooed butch Batgirl wearing a battlesuit built like a tank.
