Web Browsers?

Are there any decent web browsers out there that won't crash if you look at them cross-eyed?

I'm using Internet Explorer 6 right now and I've gotten fed up with it. Every damn time I open more than one window I see the stupid "We're sorry we've encountered an error" message. You encountered an error opening a damn webpage? Jesus, who coded this shitty program, monkeys hopped up on cought syrup? What really pisses me off though is when I press the stop button. It seems to think that I need to be sent to a white page that says "Action Cancled" Really? The action was canceled? Wonder of wonders, could it have something to do with me pressing, oh I don't know, stop?

The latest version of Netscape Navigator isn't any better. It seems to take 5 minutes just to load and the webpages load really slow. I also have the same problem with it. I open more than one page and I get an error.

So are there any not so well known web browsers out there that don't get as much publicity as Netscape and IE that won't crash as often?

My flatmate uses Opera and loves it, I've seen it and it looks pretty nice. Best feature I think is the mouse movements, moving the mouse is certain directions will carry out certain actions like moving back a page...you can get cracked versions out there, I'm going to have a look when i get home because I'm getting a little pissed with IE...

On another web related thing does anyone know of any good (free) software that stops pop-ups....?

Opera, Opera, Opera, Opera, Opera, Opera. Latest version, 6.01, is great.

I'm surprised you say NS has crashed on you. I found NS 6.2.1 to be the most stable version yet. It crashed a grand total of once, even on my bloated Win98 setup, considerably less than IE 5.5.

One problem is that IE and NS don't seem to take account of memory restrictions, and will keep spawning new windows until the whole thing blue screens. Opera at least has the decency to say "You are low on system resources, I'm not opening another window". It's annoying, but less annoying than a crash, and at least you can fix it by closing a few other programs.

I stopped having Eudora open and switched to the Opera mail client, and now I can have 20+ windows open without any problems.

Netscape didn't exactly crash, it would just stop loading anything. When it stopped loading, I had to close all the windows and restart the computer. This wouldn't have been much of a problem, but for some reason my history wasn't logged so if I had been looking at a page that I had not bookmarked then I was pretty much screwed.

Opera huh? I believe I'll go take a look at that. Thanks for the recommendation.

What about Macs? Will Opera work on my aging PowerPC (Yeah, it's a Mac clone--quit laughing)? From what I've seen, it takes quite a bit of RAM. Right now, I'm using IE 5.0 & Outlook Express 5.0. It's getting the job done, but not spectacularly or anything.
