We have recently finished our debut record and it is available online here.

We are currently offering our leading single Zero Face free of charge. If you like what you hear the remaining tracks are available via an instant download system when you purchase a track. Cheaper than iTunes and better quality to boot.

I hope some of you enjoy it.

hey.
i reckon i might have a look, but not yet.
maybe you could give me a wee bit of backstory to go with the headsup?
tell me something about yourself, bro.
tell me about the tunes, spin me a yarn, make me want it.

the fact that you are using the board to advise us of something we can pay for...well, it means you are gonna have to fight a little bit harder to get my interest.

you might wanna check the posting ettiquette section of the FAQ wiki, as it relates to exactly this situation.

hey thanks for your interest!

essentially, i have been advising online communities of my work primarily because i think its a great way to receive feedback. and barbelith has been a bookmark of mine for quite some time.

i'll give you some background on our story. essentially back in 2002 i was enrolled in a digital sound and music subject at university and the lecturer for this subject was mark ludwig. mark and i hit it off and became friends as a result. fast forward to the second half of 2004 and this is where i went out of my to organise some digital improvisational sessions with mark in order to produce a solo ep for myself.

after writing and recording for a few months we both grew from the experience. i graduated from university. 2005 would be my honours year studying multimedia here in rural australia. my project for this year was to collaborate with Mark under the name Two States and release a full length debut. The album saw fruition in November with mastering of the final mixes being undertaken in Sydney.

At this point in time we have been doing hard copy mailouts to radio stations and labels and so forth. The website was launched this week to enable some affordable online sales of tracks to be offered to the public. We figured if we made enough to fund the subsequent release we would be happy.

I put the link and info up here purely because Zero Face, the single, was to be offered free of charge to anyone and everyone. I just wanted to get some feedback and hopefully engage in some essential dialogue from objective perspectives.

That is kind of where we're at in a nutshell. Ask any questions by all means. It is really rewarding discussing 12 months of hard work.

Sounds cool, I will check it out at home tonight.

I suspect that Two States is a Pavement homage?

Alot of people do think that Two States is a tip of the hat to Pavement, however we were unaware of the whole Pavement thing.

The idea behind the name came from the fact that we were melding traditional instrumenets with digital technology. There are two of us, the machines we work with obviously compute on a binary level. The record is a mix of popular music and experimental music. The more we thought about it, the more that we could see a duality in what we were doing.

Hope that clears a few things up,

Luke
