Sounds horrible.
Mm, yes, that was probably my most unhappy (and painful) point of the weekend. I didn't really like my mates, mates either, bunch of elitist music snobs, but if I still came away with a positive vibe about the entire experience, then that can only say something good about the music. Which was pretty damn awesome.
Can anyone tell me whether that place is still as depressing as it was when I went there for a weekend of raving sixteen years ago?
I remember it as being pretty bleak, especially at that time of the year. Yeah, if you like deserted, wind swept beaches, and slightly abandoned looking buildings, this is the place for you. Still, it is much more comfortable than a regular festival, you get a bed, a kitchen (albeit small) and a toilet and a shower! As Rizla said above, the crowds at each gig are quite small (like the venues) so the gig's end up feeling quite intimate. Granted you're not seeing massively well known bands, but If you're there, then you probably don't necessarily want to see them.
I suppose ATP feels less "wild" than your regular massive outdoor festival, but I suppose that is expected since there are less people there, and they are, on the most part, quite respectful of those around them. |
