I'm 30 soon and to celebrate I'm throwing a party in Southampton.
Sunday 5th February.
The Hobbit Pub, Southampton.
2pm-until whenever.
I'm not sure what entertainments I can arrange (suggestions or volunteers welcome), but we can't have a band on after 9pm as there's a band playing upstairs. (well, a chap called Eeek).
The general theme is an eclecting iedalised mix of 1920's, Casablanca, Terry Thomas, Cigarette Holders, Flappers, Crowley, HP Lovecraft, Vamps, Cads, Film Noir, PG Wodehouse. I have no fear of anacronysm.
Part of the reason for the early start is to do something nice and leisurely and give people travelling the chance to get home. (Sunday trains are a pain).
It's an open invite. I've booked the downstairs bar, but there's a large bar upstairs as well, so numbers are not a problem.
I'm sure that (a) barbelithers would enjoy and excuse to dig out their flapper dresses/ hair oil. and (b) that some people may have some suggestions: I'm looking for sources of decorations (to place on the walls, mostly), curios and outfits (I plan to try and make some spare outfits available), and some forms of light entertainment. |
