Ellis's Hawksmoor started out as a detective somewhat disgusted with violence (how quickly that ends). In cities, he had super strength, could basically fly, cling to walls, jump real high, didn't need to eat or drink (he absorbed pollution instead), and could speak to the cities in some way, or absorb their memories. There is a scene in Stormwatch where he turns a window into basically a vidset that plays back a scene it witnessed. Leaving a city would shortly kill him. Oh, he also travelled from city to city in a womb.
Millar's Hawksmoor could talk to the city and do many other things. He could make the city walls fall, he could absorb himself into the streets, or where the whole damn city as giant fighting robot armor. |
