I don't know if this is better in Creation or here, but I thought this might be a neat way to see where all the Barbeloids are.

There have a been a few attempts at this, from what I can see, including a previous Frapper map, which only has 26 people on it, including me. I think there are a few more people than that, so I'm trying to see if a new thread and a new map can promote some more people putting virtual pins in a virtual map...

here's the link: Barbelith World

(If this should be moved or deleted based on the fact it's been mentioned before, no problems. I thought that the energy of a new thread would keep it from languishing.)

What's wrong with this map? Even though it only has 26 people on it, why can't we add to it?

Is this just North America, or was there a "Full World View" link that I didn't see? I'm not snarking, just asking.

Well Matt, I had seen that map, and posted to it, but I thought it was an older version or somesuch, because the one I'm on for Warren Ellis's 'bad signal', has my exact address, where as this one only points to the city. Maybe that's a feature I can turn on. I'm not really adverse to either, so long as we can get lotsa barbeloids people on it.

Sorry. Didn't mean to sound snarky or rude at all. I thought maybe something was actually wrong with that map. Another one sounds fine to me if it gets more action.

We have this map which, afaik, is still a going concern. Thread here. There's a substantial number of people already marked down on it - not sure that it should be abandoned (like so many other Barbelith projects) simply to do it all over again from the start.

Didn't think you were snarky, Matt! No worries.

My big question, E. Randius, is how do we add ourselves to the map? Just give our longitude and latitude on the Lithers world map thread? I didn't see anything on the map saying, 'add yourself'...

Another point is technology. What Frapper is doing is probably just as powerfull as the other map, and extremly easy. I don't care too much, but it's something to think about.

When was the last time that geocities map was updated? At least with Frappr, it's instantaneous.
