I'm not looking forward to 2006 for one specific reason - having to re-write a whole bunch of auto-generating reports in various databases and spreadsheets to included a new column for 2006. These columns are only able to be filled when there is data generated relevant to them, obviously, so many cannot actually be set up until something happens.

Until such time, there will be an irritating gap in the reports, and no, it's not possible to get these year fields to be updated automatically annually. That would be too easy.

Sounds like a bit of a harsh reason to dread the entire year.

Well, maybe not the whole year; just the first few days working in it.

Reading this thread reminds me of something Charlie Brown once said to Linus:

"You know, sometimes life can be overwhelming, so in the past I decided, to just take it one day at a time."
*makes those Charlie Brown eyes*
"These days I just worry how I make it to twelve o´clock."

Hm, doesn´t sound as nice as it did, when I read it years ago. Oh well.

For me things seems to speed up as you approach the end. I find myself getting twitchy and nervous as ends approach. I feel in limbo and just want the damned thing to end, and the new to begin - I'm the same with last few tissues in the box, Sunday nights, a work project I've been on for a while, waiting for cheque to arrive for something I've sold on eBay. I just want the thing over. This year more than any other. Bring on 2006 for me to utterly fuck up.
