Supervillain Monopoly

For Christmas I'm designing supermonopoly. Lairs instead of Houses, Fortresses instead of hotels, unique powers (like Super Speed +1 to dice roll, webbing -1 to oponent's roll) Artefacts and novelty locations etc. the main difference is an inner cross leading to the Arena where you fight each other, and getting a Power token when you pass go.

What suggestions would you make? Which hero/villain would you be? What nifty chance cards would you invent?

I think this might be better suited to Creation, really.

I don't think so- the gameplayers are here, I want functional suggestions not artistic critique.

Creation's not just about criticism, though - it's also for collaborative projects like this.

S'good in here, innit? Get more reponse an' feedback. Same argument could be made of putting it in the comics forum. I say leave it.

As for the game n that:

Bases
Volcano
Skull Island
Valley of the Dinosaurs
Monster Island
Asteroid N
Fortress of Antartica
Orbiting Doomsday Satellite
Cursed Pyramid
Atlantis

Chance Card
Bystander in Danger! (heroes must give up their turn)
Escape Pod (villain may leave the Arena but has to move back 2 turns)
Self-Destruct (everyone in specified lair can't do anythin next turn. Current owner loses ownership)

Quantum, would help if you could give us the basic rules and layout like.

Capes. You gotta have capes.
Initially I thought they should increase abilities but then I remembered the little bit about capes in The Incredibles....

There should be some option for villains to come into loads more money than they would do otherwise, representing a superheist. I'm not too sharp on monopoly though so I can't put that into words.

So what are the tokens gonna be, instead of the dog and the boot and the hat and stuff?

The tokens are going to be old heroclix figures or maybe lego men- star wars or otherwise. Whatever comes to hand and looks cool...

Love the Escape Pod and Self Destruct ideas, thanks! I have capes and heists covered, as equipment and chance events.

So the basic layout is like Monopoly, with only two properties per set. You get one innate power which you can activate by expending a Power Token (AKA peanut/tictac/glass bead), you get a token when you pass Go in addition to £200, also from some chance cards etc (POWER RING! Get 1 Power Token)
JAIL is replaced with HOSPITAL (Heroes don't go to Jail, villains always escape) which costs to get out of (private healthcare) and means you can have the chance card POW! go to hospital.

Locations are;

Empty Warehouse (M.T. Were Haus?) and Garage,
Museum and Laboratory,
Castle and Military Base,
Corporate HQ and Mansion,
Cave and Arctic Base
Newspaper and Nightclub
Secret Island and Undersea City
Moonbase and Satellite HQ
Asteroid and Death Star

There are Artefacts (one shot powers e.g. Cape gives Flight once then used up) that cost £200 from the Shop or you can get from Chance.

There is Good Chance (foil mugging miss a go, Reward from Bank get £50) and Evil Chance (Crime does pay! Get £200, Car Chase miss a go)

I think the Arena should also apply if two players land on the same square, and the combat involves opposed d6 rolls. (some characters have +1 combat)

More anon, suggestions welcome!

Get the T-Rex from "Dizzy Dizzy Dinosoaur" (He's a silly beast, to say the least) dress it up as Galactus and have a card that causes it to randomly spin about the board, leveling buildings and knocking over characters.

Worth it mainly for wiping the smug face off whoever was winning.

But...but..that was what they said! In the adverts! Don't shun me!

No need for the Reptilian Galactus, we have the ever-present threat of Giant Cat Attack! representing interstellar bombardment or dimensional instability or huge monsters awakening from beneath the Earth etc. and since we'll be playing at my in-laws there will be 5 Monster Felines to fend off.
My fave Chance so far is "Continuity Error in your Favour! Gain 1 Power!" or else "Inevitable Death of Sidekick, miss a turn grieving and vowing vengeance".

It's nearly ready, I need to cut panels out of my old comics to illustrate the locations and devise player markers the right size, or get some old heroclix. I found a bag of tiny chinese coins perfect for power tokens, now all I need are players.

I hope that the fortress of solitude is the mayfair of locations.

Nope, the Death Stars commands the top spot at the moment. Am avoiding TV this Christmas by devising chance cards and finalising the board. Sad, but better than watching Jurassic Park for the Nth time I suppose.
