CNN's report today about the man who threw a grenade at Bush and the Georgian president in May threw me for a second. I never heard that this incident was actually an assassination attempt.
First it was reported that an old dummy grenade was found on the ground near Bush.
Then it was reported that the grenade was actually live.
Does it strike anyone else that the sequence of details released have been designed to downplay that this was an assassination attempt? I'm trying not to see a conspiracy here, but it fits with the way the administration tends to try and project the image that people love and appreciate Bush the world over. |
