Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

I see no thread, so a shiny new thread is created.

Kiss.. is way funnier than The Long Kiss Goodnight, and doesn't suffer from the overblown bits that are something of a Renny Harlin trademark. It doesn't have the annoying flashyness of a Tony Scott showcase. And The Last Action Hero is a bad memory but.

It's emminently qoutable. It's fast paced and plays cleverly with the conventions of a nuNoir. And Downey Jr. & Kilmer turn in game perfomances. It's a rarity of a movie: It's funny.

"Did your father love you?"

"He was beating me in morse code, so..."

I really liked that movie, everybody was so cool and yet believable for such a movie. And I always like it, when a movie can be funny and serious, like the scene with the death by the bed with somebody hiding under the bed.

And I canĀ“t decide who was more cool, Downey or Kilmer; they are much better here than most A list actors could have been.

And I really like it, if a movie surprises me. The scene in the bar, where the girl and the guy meet each other; and where Downey and Kilmer get out of one of those to-be-killed situations!

4.5/5

I really want to see this. The trailer made it look excellent.

This is, surpisingly enough, one of my favourite films of the year.

Small correction: it's Shane Black, not "Shaun."

Shane Black.

It is a great film, but there's something no quite right about Kilmer. For someone who is supposedly so comfortable with his sexuality, he doesn't half talk about it a lot - it's like he's making a big deal about how it's not a big deal. That, though, is my only complaint. If you haven't seen it, please do. You will enjoy it.

I just saw this. Laughed a good deal more than I was expecting to, though there was the air of a script that had been sat on for a few years before it got made; some of the gags felt curiously dated:

"I was cold, I was tired, I was wetter than Drew Barrymore at a grunge club."

Shane Black marches boldly forth into the second half of the 1990s! Actually cube and the others here are right, it's a fun movie and mercifully in a era of bum-numbing blockbusters, short.

I really liked it - mainly because Robert Downey Jr is so likeable in it. Last Boy Scout is on now...

I haven't been so thoroughly entertained by a movie in such a long time - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is great.

Downey and Kilmer made such a great double act that I'd love to see a followup...
