Teaching creative writing

So I was mulling over my future employment plans the other day, and a couple of people suggested that I try my hand at teaching creative writing. At first I pleaded lack of quals (I did not pursue English as an academic subject past GCSE level), but having looked into it a bit it doesn't seem like such a wild idea. In fact i'm rather taken with it.

Obviously getting taken on by a teaching institution is out, but putting together some coursework and teaching freelance is a definate possibility. I was thinking either one-to-one or small groups, my theoretical punters being drawn from the largish English-speaking community here in Barcelona.

Say you were a well-heeled expat looking to expand on hir accomplishments, what would you like from your friendly neigbourhood freelance creative writing teacher?

Simple goals and a winning smile from the eloquent teacher (that's you!). I think covering short stories and poetry is probably best, but 'Write your Novel' is what people will want. From what I know of the Spanish expat community (lot of retirees?) there's likely to be quite a few autobiographies needing a bit of polishing.
