Hokay... looks like I'm gonna have to face up to being 34 next week. Which, on the bright side, means I'll have beaten Jesus, Bill Hicks AND David Koresh.

So I think this calls for a pint on Friday 25th November. Now, the clever bit is that the wonderful Morning Bride are playing that night (though I'm not sure what time yet- mono'll tell me as soon as she finds out, and will no doubt be starting her own thread on that too).

So what I figure is that I'm gonna go to the pub (Booths, on Church Street in Stoke Newington- I'll find the actual address in a bit) at about 5 or 6, and drink large quantities of alcohol with whoever feels like showing up. Then whoever's up for it can come a few doors up the road to watch Morning Bride (it's only a couple of quid to get in, iirc) and then back to the pub for more booze.

Sound like a plan?

It's a plan, but should we return to the same pub (Booths) for more drinks after? What about food at Booths first? Their food (for those who don't know the place) is cheap and generally good Italian - the pizza is great.

I love it when a plan comes together. I'm there already (metaphorically, not literally of course).

i'm there in spirit.
and probably on the spirits too.

press a leg for me, j-stizzle.

I'll be there. Be nice to see you again, Tabitha.

Well, I figured going back to the same pub cos that way if anyone's insane enough NOT to want to watch the band they can keep the comfy leather sofas warm for us, it being a Friday night and all.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
17:52 / 18.11.05
Well, that's true. Being early on a Friday and everything though, it's possible Lilly Nowhere and myself might take Her Childness upstairs at Booths to eat pizza first, as downstairs is not quite as child-friendly; either that, or meet you at Ryans. Or something.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
20:57 / 18.11.05
Brr. I'll be staying downstairs (and probably eating)- upstairs is too much like a restaurant.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
21:29 / 18.11.05
It is, I have to say it, exactly like a restaurant. Being a restaurant, after all... but with booze too.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
21:33 / 18.11.05
Ah, but no comfy leather sofas. Comfy leather sofas are key.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
22:04 / 18.11.05
Sofas are good. You need one at home.

Anyway, yes, gathering on Friday. The weekend is going to be busy, what with your birthday and MB Friday, then Hunting Lodge, Kosmische (unfortunately they co-incide) Saturday, and then more stuff on Sunday...

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I have "feeling like shit" pencilled in for most of Sunday. Possibly Monday too, if it proves successful.

Ah, Duckie shares your birthday and we're off to Bexhill-on-Sea (yes, very strange location... ) for the Duckie tenth birthday bash that weekend. Booked a b&b and all, so going to miss the Stokie shindig. Could come round with paracetamol and fruit juice and scrape you off the floor afterwards. You might need medical attention, by the sound of it.

Lilly Nowhere Late
18:30 / 20.11.05
I want post party medical attention too! I only live round the corner!
Another year older and deeper in debt? What's life for anyway?
See you Friday!
What do you want for prezzies, btw?

Put my name down as I will be coming in.

ZF!
07:21 / 22.11.05
I'll be there, I think, but probably closer to 7pm, so perhaps I'll manage to squeeze in some food before the gig. Be gentle it will be my first time.

Tabitha Tickletooth
07:53 / 22.11.05
I definitely want food! Will try to escape the clutches of Whitehall a bit early, but should get there by about 6.30/7pm. Don't forget to post slightly more precise directions for those of us who come from far flung places, ie outside Stokie.

I trust you have been having some pre-birthday celebrations - you know I think we should see it more as a birthweek then a birthday.

Anna, I look forward to seeing you too!

Assuming I get paid on Friday (and you know as well I do how big an assumption that might turn out to be, given the cunty company we work for, Stoats!) then of course I shall potter along.

Oh, and I second Tabitha's motion that you celebrate a birthweek, not just a birthday. Gawd knows I always do!

And Mono's gig too? Yay, then I'll get to assuage some guilt for not turning up to the last one!

PS Btw Stoatie, that last paragraph reminds me - as it's your birthday, are you going to tell your 'assuage joke'? Man, I just love anagram humour!

It's at 71 to 73 Church Street, so it says.

(And yeah, it seems to be turning into a week... I blame Jack the Bodiless and friends for getting me started early on Tuesday. The lovely bastards.)

Myself and Invisible_Al have only just seen this thread and are deeply intrigued, especially as the work will have just paid him ... so there will be money in the bank to pay for booze!

Yay! Will most likely be along to celebrate the changing of the years as well as the performance of the Bride! Cool and groovey!

Wicked!

(Note to self... you're 34 fucking years old. STOP saying "wicked").

Stoat, one day it would be very nice to meet you as I'm reliably informed that you're a top bloke, unfortunately this week isn't that nice time.
In lieu of my company, I suggest that you get very pissed.

Tabitha Tickletooth
07:55 / 25.11.05
Directions greatly appreciated. And by midnight, we are alleged to be getting Stoat celebration snow. Fucking yay yay yay. This birthday piss-up is going to rock!

Dang. Looks like I'm not going to be able to make any of this now afterall. Fusking work commitment. Will you take an IOU for birthday booze?

10:37 / 25.11.05
yay! it'll be really nice to see you all and i won't have to feel guilty about missing the birthday drinks...

ORA ORA ORA ORAAAA!!
14:26 / 25.11.05
I'd love to come and buy you a birthday drink, Mr Stoatie, and also meet a bunch of 'lithers (before I am famous), but my plane will be leaving as the band hits the stage, so I cannot do it. Boo, and also hiss. Or hoo.

Anyway, enjoy it, and happy birthday.

14:37 / 25.11.05
Maybe your plane will circle overhead, interrupting the semi-acoustic set, and we'll all look up and think, ahhh, there flies up the Red Frog, Rising.

ORA ORA ORA ORAAAA!!
08:32 / 26.11.05
I must have been drunk when I posted that (which seems unlikely, since I can't remember having been to a pub for more than lunch), because my plane leaves next friday.

Or maybe drinking London water has done something to my brain.

Thank you everyone... I was on the rum and Cokes last night, and next time I think I may give the Cokes a miss... got home about three, and lay there too drunk to move but too wired to sleep until about six. BALLS!!!

Was a good night though. Thank you everyone!

Stoatie, I left the pub before you - how did you get out of bed in time to post so early today?

Ah well, maybe I'll be able to do that when I'm your age.

Great party dude, thanks for inviting me. Roll on the next birthday!

This in the great tradition of Lemmy, who upon being told that he is diabetic, decided to cut out the sugary Cola in his Jack and Cokes...
