Wow. What a fabulous gig. What a wonderful band. What witty patter. And the ABC is an excellent venue, despite over-enthusiastic doormen trying to shepherd people into different queues for picking up tickets and entering the gig.
The front half of the room is normal standing room, and the back half is raised up a couple of steps and there is an assortment of boxy seating, kind of sixties style, so you can sit in different sized groups, or stand, or do what you like. Decent loos, non-overpriced drinks. Top work all round. And did I mention that the band were amazing?
Stupid snotty woman next to us overheard complaining that she didn't like the band, mainly because there were no vocals. DIE NOW! What the fuck are you doing at a Dirty Three show not knowing that they don't have a singer? And even so, how can you see such a great performance and not get on your knees in thanks for being able to see it? DIE DIE! |
