Zak leaves Low

For those of you who care, Zak Sally, Low's bassist of the last ten years or so has left the band - Low News

While they have a replacement and plans to tour soon, this still leaves the question of whether they will be able to reproduce that crunching live bass sound for Canada?

Again? Didn't he do that a little while ago?

Oh dear.

I think their most recent album is the best thing they've ever done.

Various journalists seemed to throw out some "ooh, they're singing about going deaf and burning guitars, could this be their last album??" speculation in reviews, but to me that seems like a bunch of crap - if anything it sounds like a band gearing up for great things.

I'm sure I won't be hurting anyone's feelings by saying Zak Sally is probably the least vital part of the trio (great tho he is), so I hope they carry on.

Yeah I'd be disappointed not to see them continue after what was one of my favourite albums of this year.

Aren't they mormons though, or something?

Mimi and Alan are....but that doesn't make them bad people.

No, it doesn't make them bad people.

But it does mean they can fly.

Yes... Yes it does.

It's interesting that the story left out the fact that Zak is leaving to devote time to publishing comics. I think you'd have to be clinically insane to quit Low after Great Destroyer, but if you're going to, that's the best possible reason.
