Anyone got a spare moment? Good, then go here and tell me what you see. Grey box, white background, nothing...or something else.
If you don't see anything could you tell me which browser you are using. If you do then feel free to press the buttons, answer the questions and see what score you get. You have to press next to move to the next question.

Do I want to install and run Java Plug-In 1.3? Is that a good thing?

It wants a download which I can't do.

Internet Explorer version 5.5:

After downloading Sun's Java program, I got a fun little trivia quiz.

Yep, install the plug in. Won't do any harm I promise. Your average browser runs java 1.02 (I think). This applet uses more recent components so you would need 1.3. All harmless and good I assure you.
So did the quiz work ok? It didn't like not respond at any moments? Did it seem smooth? Did the layout seem easy to use?

OK Buk, I threw caution to the winds and installed the download anyway. I use Internet Explorer, and the quiz works fine.

Except I got a 5!!! And one of them doesn't count because I guessed on the question about Postman Pat or whoever.

Yeah, I'm just trying to get to grips with programming. I know that applet is pretty easy and lame, but everyone has got to start somewhere, eh?
You have no idea how glad that I am that it actually works. It was very buggy for a while, and if you hit the buttons in the wrong order it still is. Fun thto make though, not sure how much fun it is to play, but thanks for humoring me.

Big download, but it works fine. Is it possible to make it proceed to the next question without the Next button?

Yeah, I could do that. For the moment it is easier to do it like this, but yeah I think that would be more user-friendly. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate the comments.

Worked fine for me on Opera 6.01. I got 13.

Except, there's something a bit odd with your timer. It was definitely counting down at odd speeds, not always one second per tick.

Yeah, on opera you don't even need the download. Thanks for the input wb, I'll have a look at the timer.

Cool. I got a quiz with a timer (although there's no effect when the timer reaches zero). I'm using IE 5.5. Well-structured piece of java, buk.

Yeah, I haven't programmed it to do anything when the timer hits zero. This is all to come. This is a barebones version at the moment.
I like quizes though and this means that I can put them up on my site really easily. No need to get into messy javascript.
What kind of scores you guys getting?

The timer was a little distracting, and I wasn't sure what to do when I got an answer wrong - it wouldn't let me reselect the right one.

Any more comments. Does it work, browser type, etc would be appreciated.

IE5, Mac. Won't work at all; applet is in the source-code, but won't actually kick on. I see a black heading saying "Quiz" and a link to I Hate My Blog. Icab 2.7: same thing. Opera 5: same thing.

Thassit.

Amazingly enough - same as Rothkoid.

I'm glad you posted, I was beginning to think it was like the magic eye pictures. Everyone standing round saying 'cool, a dolphin' and me backing away slowly...

Thanks for the input guys. Not working on Macs, eh. Write once run anywhere, my eye...
