So. I've just started playing Stronghold Deluxe, which I nabbed (along with its kinda-sorta sequel, Stronghold: Crusade) for ten bucks at a local computer store sale. And I must say, I'm finding it more enjoyable than other RTS games that I've played.
(Caveat: I haven't played that many. I liked the idea of Gangster and Gangster 2 but found the interface kinda annoying, as well as the lack of graphic options. I also don't really dig on the whole sword-and-sorcery ones so much - perhaps the realism in this one (well, a little more realism, anyway) appeals more?)
At any rate, I was wondering if anyone else out there digs these games. I've not played the new version - which looks to be pretty good - but was wondering: how much do these games differ from the Total War ones? Do the economics come into play in other games in the way they do here?
More to come. Must play more. |
