Whether you 'believe' in channelling or not, I find his/her stuff pretty interesting i.e. it resonates with some of the quantum theory bubble-head stuff I've explored recently. I've only read "Unknown Reality" so am not a hardcore Seth fan but would appreciate any further comments and/or opinions on the theories.

Jane Roberts' channelled entity waaay back in the early 70's...

I haven't heard of this before, could you expand on it for me? Thanks.

Well, this is kinda what 'Seth' had to say about God... Judge for yourself.

"All That Is" once existed in a state of being, but without the means to find expression for that being. You exist as the expression of that being, to serve as a constant impetus toward renewed creativity. Desire rules your actions and forms the basis for all your realities. We are all probable individual selves, alive within God's dream. God is triumphant and joyful at each new development taken by each consciousness and revels in our slightest creative acts.

You vaguely remember and yearn for your source and now dream of It as It dreams us. The connections between us and All That Is can never be severed. However, all elements of All That Is are constantly changing. All That Is constantly seeks to know Itself, for seeking is a creative activity and the core of all action. Each of us, as individual consciousness, seek to become aware of ourselves as distinct elements of All That Is. In doing so we automatically draw on the overall energy of All That Is, our existence being dependent upon it. The portion of All That Is that is aware of Itself as us, that is focused within our existence, can be called upon for help when necessary. Your mind is the bridge. Indeed, everything is the Mind of All That Is.

You do not have to die to find God. All That Is, is now; and you are a part of All That Is now. I very seldom use such words as love. I do not tell you that a god is waiting for you on the other side of a golden door. I do not reassure you by telling you that when you are dead, God will be waiting for you in all His majestic mercy, and that will be the end of your responsibility. And so, I offer no hope for the lazy, for they will not find eternal rest. However, through traveling within yourself, you will discover the unity of your consciousness with other consciousnesses. Through this you will discover a multi-dimensional love and energy that will inspire you to take a better hand in the job of creation.

And that feeling of divine presence you will find indeed, and feel indeed, for you will sense it behind the dance of the molecules and in yourself and in your neighbors. What so many want is a God Who walks down the street and says, "Happy Sunday, I am I, follow Me. But God is hidden craftily in His creations so that He is what they are, and they are what He is; and in knowing them, you know Him.

I read some of the Seth material while catsitting for a friend years back, and a lot of it was about how we create our own reality through our subconscious thoughts/patterns/ideas, that if we keep attracting negative things or a lack of good fortune in our lives, it must be because we have old patterns from our upbringing, karmic lessons to learn, etc. etc. A lot of it was similar in this respect to the book Conversations With God, which I rather enjoyed.

There was one instance in the book when, speaking to the channeled Seth, someone asked Seth 'why is my friend always battling depression, always attracting unhealthy sexual relationships, men who abandon and hurt her, etc. etc.?' and Seth basically answered that the woman in question was drawing these experiences to her because of old patterns, self-hatred, that's all she felt she deserved, etc., and that if we really worked hard on changing her subconscious beliefs through self-knowledge, affirmations, being honest with herself about her core beliefs, etc., she would get different results.

>> And so, I offer no hope for the lazy, for they will not find eternal rest.

This quote seems to emphasize the theme I remember from the book I read that we are all responsible for what happens in our lives and can re-create it if we choose to experience something different, but that it takes work to create things anew.

I am not offering anything very helpful here, but this was my very first occult(ish) book I ever read. Not exactly the first book as I had read others on the occult issues, but they never really got to the point and focused more on dates and names...yadda, yadda

I was 16 when my boyfriend's mom recommended it to me, along with Castenada's "A Separate Reality" after her I were talking (she used to sit with us, smoke a spliff and chat). I read The Seth Material first, and then moved on to the Castenada books.

The Seth Material was so clear. I remember feeling quite euphoric while reading the book because it was articulating my own understanding of existence. It was quite a relief for me at the time. Now I have to re-read it!

I havent listened, i doubt its as good as hunting lodge, unless of course it contains audible possession exorcist style, but that would get boring after about say 5 seconds.

theirs a whole lot of psychic oriented stuff there at the mo on one of the audio binaries, edgar cayce etc etc.

Certainly, as I remember it, Seth's stuff isn't all about how we create our reality, I just remember that stuff leaping out at me amongst the other spiritual/philosophical/metaphysical/psychic stuff.

Jane Robert's stuff is the cream of the proto-New Age crop. The transmissions from Seth are remarkably cogent and insightful. I think it is telling that the foundation created by her husband after her death has not endeavored to become some sort of sleazy training/indoctrination center...it is still pretty modest.

It is also interesting to read Robert Monroe's trilogy alongside the Seth material...there are some very interesting parallels. Ditto for whatsisname's Journey of Souls books.
