Of course I won't be singing its praises at the other end of the year, but gaining an extra hour on a Sunday in October is the happiest morning of the year.

Getting up at normal time and yet feeling virtuous for getting up an hour earlier, both at once.

Now I have a whole extra hour in which to ... well, fuck about really. But the list of potential things I could do on a Sunday just got longer. Then again, that just means a longer list of things I won't be doing, but there you go.

Apologies to those in the southern hemisphere, whose hour we stole. But at least you're going into summer, so fair's fair.

I'd completely forgotten about it until at about half past 2 this morning I noticed that my pc clock seemed to be an hour earlier than all the other clocks in my house. After a moments confusion I realised what was going on and happily sauntered around changing all the clocks back by an hour.
Safe in the knowledge that I'd be getting an extra hour in bed this morning I decided to have an extra glass of wine or 2.
Anyway, an hour later my pc had set itself back another hour and my phone clock had reset itself an hour foward and I don't know why.
In the end I had to call the speaking clock and set them all again but because I was a bit pissed by then I'm still not even sure now that I've got the right time.
It's quite an alien feeling for me to not be sure what the time is, I think I'll run with it for a while to see how the day pans out.

Xoc, I fear we'll never be on 'lith time. This place is always a step ahead, I s'pose. That would truly be something to celebrate however.

As for sparky, I give you exhibit one:

Safe in the knowledge that I'd be getting an extra hour in bed this morning I decided to have an extra glass of wine or 2.

And exhibit two:

an hour later my pc had set itself back another hour and my phone clock had reset itself an hour foward and I don't know why.

I don't think we'll need to call Inspector Morse away from his opera for this one.

So, the Barb is about 3 minutes behind.

And I´ve already lost that extra hour. Meaning, I adapt pretty fast to winter time. It´s summer time, that takes me five months of getting used to.

The only thing sad about losing the hour is when it gets DARK so early!!

Can somebody explain to me why the time on my phone is now two fucking hours ahead?

Well, we just changed time down here in Australia, too.

Some of us, anyway.

Now, it means it won't be fucking 5am when the sun comes up. Which can only be a good thing.

...and we only just got our nine month old on a good sleeping schedule. Now the little brat is waking up at five ayem wondering why we're not awake yet.

Bah.

(On the plus side, he goes to sleep nice and early now.)

So Loomis, did you actually DO anything with your extra hour or did you just stay in bed longer?

Well, as Ariadne's away he did. He also read the paper for 55 minutes.

I can do two things at once you know. Depending on which paper I read.

Bah, I don´t bother changing the clocks. In six months I´d need to change them again!

Not so. Proof (of a fashion) here.

You'll just have to take my word that I was telling the truth. Didn't stay that way for long though. The Barbelith clock is a bit of a tricksy, slippery little bugger.
