What really MATTERS to you? What's IMPORTANT?

OK, so this could have gone in Head Shop or Temple maybe, but at the risk of reall flippant response (which is OK, and fine and all), I'd like to know what you fine group of intellects and wisdoms (sorry) actually consider to be IMPORTANT.

Excuse all the capitalisation. It's nopt easy, this text business.

So really, what do you treasure? What strikes you as really relevant to the import of life's meaning or lack thereof? Why do you continue? What makes you inspired? Feel like fighting for? Struggling against/ towards?

What, in a nutshell, do you fell the whole (or partial) point is?

Why? What for? Do you do, or do you be? Are you a human doing, or a human being? C ould you, to sum it all up, give a fiddler's fart? And, once this essential question : "Does it matter?" is answered, where do you stand on the next philosophical monolith : "Who is going to tidy up?"

Also : To start the ball rolling : I have clealry drunk too much, and I am incapable of typing in coherent English. Could a mod please (please) at least sort the typo in the title and abstratc, and possibly the body of this post, jst so I don't wake up, hungover, and rotten, and cringe more thanI am already likely to?

Thaaaa-aaanks! I loves ya, baby!

can i vote against moneyshot's request?

i think moderators leaving typos alone when they add so much flavour and nuance to a text that can so often otherwise be dry and banal, unlike its spoken cousin so alive with gesture and inflection, accent and volume - i really care about that!

what actually matters?
shit, that's a tough one.
time for an outrageous lie that has become a truth, i reckon.

writing a good story matters.
i always say it, hey.
i'm not sure if i just started saying it because it sounded cool, but it definitely now functions as though it were my opinion.
i see life as story, living as writing, and making your tale one worth reading as the goal.

i also like to know stuff.

as a result, my story is going to be like a really well written da vinci code with a bit more emphasis on exploration of the mind and building lasting shapes of worth.
you will learn when you read it,and you will love to do so.
the protagonist will come across as a self-styled crusader from an amazing line of human elevators.
if i manage to pull it off, naturally.
there's around 50 million ways to get it wrong, but i intend to get it right.

i also intend for the text to achive self awareness fairly early on. (just some time before the story ends would be good)
i worry it might end up being a hack-tastic piece of holiday trash that reads like a fourteen year old trying to do Castenada2099... but that passes.
and then i worry whether it should pass... and the wheel of doubt turns on.

god, i hope they cast someone hot as me in the TV adaptation.
i'd hate to be played by dexter fletcher or some shit.

Typos in topic titles MATTER.

Well, there's a difference between what I care about and what I think matters in a larger, less personal sense. I care a lot about my dog, but I don't think he "matters" much in the grand scheme of things. I also care about my job and doing it well, but I don't think it matters beyond my personal sense of satisfaction/accomplishment. I think the environment matters, and that humans try to preserve and not destroy it, but I don't really have passionate feelings about it. I care about the person with whom I'm in a long term relationship, and the relationship itself, and those things I think do matter in some abstract sense - there's something in it to learn about life beyond the particulars of you & me.

What strikes you as really relevant to the import of life's meaning or lack thereof?

The answer's in the question. To quote Alexander Lowen, life is the meaning of life.

man, seth, bro, that aint gonna work on no spoken word tour.
you gotta flesh it out some, dude.
throw in some shit about dancing, drinking, maybe some divine visions, revelations of profound impact, scary truths hiding in plain sight, you know the sorta thing.

'life is life' is just so...lifeless, you know?

jazz it up!
make it sexy!

Food.

Food matters. A lot. Making food for someone is a primary means of expressing love. Good food, not crap instant food or snack food - food made from scratch with high-quality ingredients, most preferably organic.

And sleep. The little nooks and crannies of happiness that aren't occupied by food are mostly reserved for sleep. I say "mostly" because whatever's left is pretty well divided between sex and everything else.

Oops, and climbing. Probably nudged up in there with sex squeezing sleep a bit, but not too much.

What matters is the opposite of adverts,
among other things.
Life, a burning rig beyond the shore.
The joy of the dogs running between abandoned buildings.
In the forest, moonlight on her face.
The village far away.
Tender joy of the afterglow,
burning tattered rags of flag flutter to dust in the breeze. Breathe the air.
Remember to Breathe.

Knowing the difference between what's real and what's not is pretty important, I'd say. Education also matters to me. I wants me some book learnin'!

So really, what do you treasure?

Awareness. Awa(k)eness.

What strikes you as really relevant to the import of life's meaning or lack thereof?

Everything.

Why do you continue?

Because giving up is hell.

What makes you inspired?

Too many things to list here.

Feel like fighting for?

Freedom.

Struggling against/towards?

Against : Delusion and ignorance. Towards : More freedom.

What, in a nutshell, do you fell the whole (or partial) point is?

The realization that in the end, you make your own reality.

Why?

Because.

What for?

a) So that one day I can go hyperplaning on my airboard without some twat telling me that it's impossible, and so that I can exist somewhere that doesn't have most people slave labouring for 5 days out of 7 so that 'the modern Wo/Man' can be coaxed into building and funding and even bigger fucking mess on a planet that's already mostly trashed because they've been deluded by the governments, major corporations and media.

b) Cheese flavoured doritos

Do you do, or do you be?

Both and niether.

Are you a human doing, or a human being?

Both and neither.

Could you, to sum it all up, give a fiddler's fart?

No, because I don't have a fiddlers fart on me, sorry.

And, once this essential question : "Does it matter?" is answered, where do you stand on the next philosophical monolith : "Who is going to tidy up?"

Everyone cleans up their own mess sooner or later.

i also intend for the text to achive self awareness fairly early on.

If you can work out how to do this, could we apply it to other things as well?

Char Aina
10:28 / 29.10.05
dude, the text is my timeworm read as a linear literary construct, innit.

if it becomes self aware, so does the whole of my existence ever, and that includes not only all of me and mine, but you, your mum, your favourite waistcoat and your entire album collection, among other things.

i am he as you are he as you are me and we are all your records just as soon as i can get the damn thing plotted and the first draft done.

Continuity in the X-Men matters. I'm writing a letter to Wizard about that right now, I'm gonna go do it.
