I thought this belonged in here, even though it was a TV show...did anyone see it? I'm afraid I forget the name, but it was a documentary narrated by the dude who did the big History of Hip-Hop on BBC2, regarding the rise and rise of Christian Hip-Hop, featuring many of the artists of the current and incumbent scene...it was really interesting, and I regret only catching the second half...
Can anyone point the direction for the movers and shakers (apart from the obvious Kanye West, though maybe he qualifies?) of this scene, and maybe we can discuss whether or not the scene at large is likely to head in this direction, or whether Gospel and it's influence will forever be a little too fringe for the wider audience of hip-hop around the globe (ie out of the American heartland...) |
