Register with as many as you can.
Pick up a copy of Ms London or one of the other freesheets you find on the tube, and look through the ads in the back. They're designed for temps.
I got most of my jobs when I was temping through RoC Recruitment - they were pretty reliable and got me city jobs on £10+ an hour - but a lot of it depends on who you get assigned to and how proactive they are. Ask who their clients are if you want to work in a particular area.
Oh, and if you start work somewhere, they like you and you like them, ask them to employ you "under the counter", independent of the agency. They theoretically should pay the agency if they do that, but you can sort something out. You'll end up with much more money, since the agency take a huge cut. |
