I may have a public speaking event soon and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about a) using the position of public speaker to pay tithe to an entity or charge a sigil and b) the ethics of involving an audience who aren't anything to do with magic.

I can see this is a wide area but I'm hoping people are going to take it off in their own directions.

dunno about magic... however...

first thing you want to do when you take the stage is reach out towards the furthest row of the room. Get a sense of how far away it is.

this is particularly helpful in projecting to the very back, instead of the first few rows. Breathe and speak through your diaphram.

which entity to evoke depends on what your subject is, who your audience is, and what you're trying to accomplish for yourself and your audience.

Going out on a limb here: Mercury-Hermes-Thoth - good communications entities, and mighty potent at that.

or you may want to start small with a lesser known entity.

or discover your own.

I do debate/competitive speaking just about every weekend, and I find it usefull to make an offering to Ganesh-somewhat in line with the entities suggested above. I've also seen people do stuff with NLP (Anchoring confidence, for instance). At the very least, it could afford you practice at invoking particular states of mind.

Many find it useful to make an oral offering to Ganesh...
