Division Shadow #1 Now Available

The Body America is Vulnerable.

Division Shadow is its immune system.

But for those it touches, Division Shadow means mutual assured destruction.

Division Shadow is a big ensemble cast piece, with three seperate artists, each drawing the stories of one chunk of characters within the larger piece. It's written by me (Patrick Meaney) and drawn by Nicolas Colacitti, Carlos Devizia and Marcelo Carmona, and Shawn Decker.

One of the big influences on the book was 'Best Man Fall' from The Invisibles, and GM's work in general, though this is a bit less sci-fi than most of his work.

Anyway, You can check out a thirteen page preview of the book here. It's in PDF and Doc format now, but I should have a cbz up tonight.

The first issue is only $1.50, for 24 pages, and is currently only available from our site, but should be making it into retail stores pretty soon as well. It's a six issue series, and is going to be released monthly. You can buy it here.

Thanks, Finderwolf. I was a bit wary about doing the three artists thing, but they all turned out to be great. It's very cool seeing the pages of script get turned into a comic.

And, I forgot to mention it above, but I believe Paypal takes payments from the UK, and I'll ship it internationally for the same price. So, if you're not from the States, you can still order the book.

How many issues will there be in total, or is issue 2 the end? If there are more, will there be a nice bundle deal for purchasing everything once it's all out (I like getting my comics all at once)?

There's going to be six issues in total. What you can do now is subscribe to the book, you pay $8.00 and we'll send you all the issues that have already been released, and when the new ones come out, we'll send those as well. So, I suppose you could just subscribe right when issue six is coming out and we'll send you all of them for $8.00, or just subscribe now and stockpile the issues to read at your leisure.

It may hurt sales to say this, but it is a very continuity heavy story, so reading all the issues in one go is probably the ideal way to read it. However, there's always some pleasure in reading each issue individually and savoring it as an individual piece rather than merely as a piece of the whole.
