It's quite a way off but I'm having a twenty first birthday party this year. It should turn in to a nice drugged up dance night but I was thinking about a giant sigil taped up on the wall. Nothing for personal gain but maybe something for the actual night... I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about this kind of thing? I just kind of like the idea of getting everyone to inadvertently make everbody elses night better, particularly considering that a lot of them won't know each other.

Mantras work well at parties. Visuals have to hold your attention cos if you have no conscious magical intent and you turn away you lose the link. Sound creeps in at the edges, and the body vibrates in sympathy...

hmm - the peace mango actually didn't occur to me which was pretty dim but I think maybe a little flourescense might be in order to catch attention.

You know, I really regret not thinking of this for my friend's 21st birthday party. It was easily the wildest party I've been to, lots o' drugs, lots o' people, lots o' energy. I would suggest that if you put up a pictoral sigil, place a copy of it in every room, or even on every wall.

well, with a computer in the party room (okay, that doesn't sound like a good idea, but bear with me), you can run an animation that includes the sigil; subliminal bursts between the screensaver, as an animated background, etc. even better would be a cable to a TV, and the best (most non-intrusive and visually pleasing) is a projector, beaming your sigil to the wall/ceiling. as an added bonusto the 'puter : MP3's. just hide or disconnect the keyboard/mouse.

Back in my student days, when I actually had free time during the week, I used to hit the Trocadera in Philly fairly regularly on club nights. They had lights that would project changeable shapes onto the walls and the dance floor. I figure if you have some sort of spotlights (or even a few particularly powerful maglites) you could probably mock this up with a stencil-type thing and colored saran wrap. Giant, colorful sigils moving back and forth across the walls and floor might be just what you're looking for.
