Unresolved Issue from Morrison's NEW X-MEN???

First off I thoroughly enjoyed Grant Morrison's run on New X-men and think it's one of the finest X-works yet. Although the major fine points are explained and clear to me, there'has always been 1 issue which I can't explain.
During the RIOT AT XAVIER'S arc the X-men are having a meeting and Emma shows them a kick-inhaler and says she used it in the name of science. We all know that kick was SUBLIME'S aerosol form, so why didn't she get "infected" by Sublime??

Presumably she was... but she wasn't a habitual user like Magneto so she didn't go completely bugfuck. It's a moot point, of course since she dies shortly thereafter and I'd imagine her ressurection by the Phoenix purged Sublime from her system.

I'm going to suggect that while some Kick was Sublime, Sublime is not all Kick.

Well, Angel does suggest that White Queen knew something, but she(Angel) didn't know exactly what. It could also be read as the White Queen knew something, but she(Emma) didn't know exactly what.

Emma, being a telepath, would've been able to sense the innate consciousness of Sublime being carried in the Kick stimulant. She'd also stated that she'd taken Kick and felt angelic and violently insane. Angelic + Violently Insane = Superheroic... but that's a different discussion.

In any case, the reason for Emma's diamond bullet murder is never revealed, and I would suggest that she was assassinated because she took Kick. Sublime's consciousness may have feared discovery, and had her killed. Remember, Sublime was puppet mastering Magneto/Xorn, who puppet mastered Esme, who puppet mastered Angel, who shot White Queen.

I just figured she would purge the Sublime/Kick residue the next time she took on Diamond form.

I thought sublime was mans innate self destructive impulse? kick is a metaphor for complicity with pessimism and destruction...

So I think it matters in what context the kick is used, ala dont get dependant. Just like drugs kids!

And I thought Sublime was an evolved memetic complex, meaning he can still manifest at any point Emma or other infected kick-users choose to dwell intellectually too long on that pessimism and destruction.

Sublime was much less strange than a sentient idea. That is what a memetic complex is, rabid. It says in 154 that it is sentient genetic code -meaning he's is present in a lot of things, but only manifests if its been accumulated. Sublime is conscious in an entirely different way than most sentient individuals.

Now, allegorically, Sublime can be seen as the memetic complex to fight and be angry and stuff, but that's what makes him such a great villain for the X-Men. He's the actual living reason people fear and hate what they don't understand.

OK So as I understand it to be "infected" by Sublime one has to be a frequent user of KICK. And Emma wasn't so she was murdered to prevent her from finding out. Seems plausible.
Reason I struggled with this issue is that in HERE COMES TOMORROW Jean explains to Logan that Hank TRIED KICK one night and got infected. Emma also TRIED KICK in RIOT AT XAVIER'S and didn't get infected. It was never stated that Hank was a KICK-ADDICT

Do you become "infected" by the food you eat?

Logan said Hank only tried Kick. From prior exposition, we understand that Hank was also under incredible strain and despair. One would assume that Hank, trying to enhance his own performance as leader/teacher/scientist/what have you, much more than tried Kick. I assumed that Hank had become addicted to its ability to ramp up his capabilities.
