instalment #2 of things-to-do-in-Brighton-when-you're dead-cool THIS FRIDAY.

PLAN B MAGAZINE (www.planbmag.com) the up-and-coming much-much-needed alternative to the NME has teamed up with THE HANBURY BALLROOM to put on what will be one of the most boundary-pushing and genre-clashing nights this town has seen all year.

PLAN B PRESENTS…
FRI 21 OCT * £6/5 8-LATE
THE HANBURY BALLROOM

meet KEVIN BLECHDOM (Chicks on Speed records), who delivers outsider avant-pop from the other side of the punky-electro equation – check her surrealist cartoon website (www.kevyb.com) or latest, strangest album, ‘Eat My Heart Out’… meanwhile PRINTED CIRCUIT is a one-woman-band who plays 8-bit dance music on busted-up and reassembled games consoles… and SIMON BOOKISH (www.simonbookish.com) fashions outlandish electropop chansons for deviants and former librarians everywhere. deejay support comes from a specially-trained group of female booty bass enthusiasts.

As usual, I would love to come but I have been hit by a double whammy. One: I have not a bean to piss in 'til payday (next week) and two: my Dad's coming down to visit and I'm not to sure what he'd make of Kevin Blechdom.

I just can't see him saying "Tight little rhythm and blues combo, son".

Sorry friend. Hope it goes good.

I'd love to be there but I'm completely penniless as usual.

Kevin Blechdom is really worth seeing. I saw her in concert twice in the last two months, and she´s amazing!

She´ll be playing in London, too: 23 and 24 Oct 2005.
