This study is unique in that it demonstrated with evidence that subjects treated with a placebo for depression actually responded (38% of placebo subjects vs 52% of those who received real medicine). Scientists are actually considering the placebo as a real treatment method for some cases.
Any magickian knows how this works. The subject believes the pill will make them better. Their intent is to become better, the pill is the focus, the ritual is the taking of the pill. Its all driven by the paradigm that modern medicine works, and faith in this medicine.
I just find it very amusing that doctors might perscribe a placebo in some cases, thereby working as a magickian rather than a scientist. |
