I'm starting a new blog, do you mind me quoting bits of text from here?

Because most of it'll be film reviews etc, and sometimes people here say things better than I can. Should I ask before quoting or trust that someone will contact me if I do sometihng out of order?

Quotes will be presented as such, with source.

1. Link to the Barbelith thread from which the quote is drawn, and attribute all quotes. If it interrupts your prose to do so, add a little note after the entry, e.g. "Discuss this film on Barbelith. Special thanks to Mordant Carnival, Quantum, and Smoothly Weaving."

2. (Optional for the scrupulous) PM the poster when you quote 'em. After the fact is usually okay—otherwise you'll never get anything posted to your damn blog, cos you'll be waiting for replies all day.

2a. The Web operates on the principle of "implied consent." Silence = tacit approval.

2b. But be prepared to pull the quote if anybody objects.
