This was found on Tom's weblog. Theo Jansen has been making his own animals that live on the beach. I personally think these are beautiful and want to start this thread now, reporting back when I've had a good read of the site. For now, some pictures:

The videos are particularly intriguing: you can see how they move. An astounding ammount of engineering has gone into these.

The Rhinocerous Transport - weighs 2 tons, wind powered (with accomodations for two passengers). The videos are awe-inspiring. I haven't been this delighted in days!
