a multi-part article
about how the two Pop Icons have influenced each other, design and content-wise. interesting stuff.

and check the rest of the site, if you like the bizarre vintage in Comics. well, even if you don't, it's great.

WTTNBY? What is that?

I remember hearing Grant Morrison having some ideas for doing a Capt. Marvel, Jr. comic and really wanting to see that happen...but perhaps it won't given how busy he is with 7 Soliders. Although Geoff Johns hinted in the recent Teen Titans 'possible alternate future' storyline that Marv. Jr. will join the team, leading to more possible exposure of the Teen of Lightning (just made that name up, cheesy isn't it?).

Dude, Elvis covered "Blue Suede Shoes," but it belonged—and always will—to Carl Perkins.

Kids today; no sense of history.

That said, your theory intrigues me. Perhaps it is no coincidence that the King chose to illustrate his motto, "Taking Care of Business In a Flash" with this little sigil...

...which he incorporated into custom jewelry, his band's costumes, roadie T-shirts, et cetera.

And of course there's Elvis's fondness for capes.

But I am not entirely convinced. Did Freddy Freeman have a stillborn twin? Has the Captain Marvel canon ever shown him to have a fondness for peanut-butter-and-banana sammiches? And perhaps most importantly, does he dye his hair?

I know the song and its history, just never heard the 'WTTNBY' acronym. Now, TCB, I have one of those silly little icon thingies on my fridge after having visited Graceland.

(Note to self: next time, read the link before making a smart-assed reply—the article in question actually makes a pretty convincing case that EAP was a Cap Jr fan.)

WTTNBY? What is that?

just a silly joke with the S.H.A.Z.A.M.! acronym, given "Blue Suede Shoes" is one of the most famous songs Elvis performed.

it can work like an empowering 20th Century mantra for the Chaos kids. could also be "ITTNBY" if you ignore the "Well".

Capt. Marvel Jr. is apparently about to join the Judd Winnick-writen Outsiders book. Jade asks him to join the most recent issue. (I read it in the store, every once in a where there's a decent character moment but it's pretty mediocre superheroics and not really recommended. It'll be fun to see Marv Jr. used again in an ongoing book, though.)
