And such fast work! Editors would love you, Jack.
Unless the editor is named Bobbie Chase and crushed young men's dreams by not publishing their awesome 'What If' comics starring the Thing as Captain America (uniform painted on the rocky skin dude!) with Reed, Invisible, and Torch as SHIELD unit Avengers. The splash page man, the splash page. "Avengers, it's clobberin' time!".

But yeah, I'm sure most other editors would love me.

Genius! (off-topic) [I actually meet Bobbie Chase at a con in Minnesota when she was editing PAD's original Hulk run back around 1995. She and PAD were both there & were fun to talk with. I never sent her a pitch, though. I did draw a few pages of the Spidey story in the JR, Jr. Marvel Try-Out book and then some X-Men pages but never sent them in to Marvel, I don't think. Cap. uniform painted on rocky skin...wow.]

Anyway, back to topic - Grant and Cameron, you know we're all at the ready with our wallets and our hearts & spirits for more Seaguy when the stars align! those fish oil prices just keep rising...

Ahh Jack, doing for Seaguy what Miller did for Daredevil.

It's a darker, grittier Seaguy that must hide his face behind a diving helmet (and, presumbly, rely on someone to pump air for him. She-Beard?). What dark secrets have driven Xoo to take on squid form and prowl the night smoking cigs and beating people up like an Ellis character?

Schweeddy Da Schweed beats people up when they forget SEAGUY is easy to find and cheap; he knows that if they don't buy it his very own existence will cease to be! so...

Amazon.com - Amazon.uk - Khepri - Mars Import

Schweeddy knows Barbelith won't profit from those links, he's doing it for kids. and, you know, Ultimate Seaguy and his very own schweedesque existance...

Rumor has it
Grant Morrison mentioned that 'Sea Guy' will continue with The Slaves of Mickey Eye. He also mentioned that he had to 'hold '52' for ransom' to get DC to publish. NO 'Sea Guy,' NO '52.'"

That's great! A very cool move on Grant's part. Didn't he do the same thing with his JLA run back in the day, holding it hostage so he could finish The Invisibles?

I couldn't find anything about Seaguy on that link Tricks.

To be honest though, haven't we had this about a zillion times in the past? Don't think I'm going to hold my breath over yet another vague rumour.

(Still counts as vague rumour even if it did come from Grunt Mizzlecizzle, fooking tease).

I would have thought Monsieur Stewart'll let us know if there's an actual chance of a sequel.

I think that has to be a line, surely his contract wouldn't allow such behaviour and look how ridiculously late he was getting the script to SS#1 done due to his work on #52...

I am going to put this character back into the mainstream with my next project which should be out soon (3-4 hours?). Here is some teaser art from the project.

I wonder what the contract is like with Stewart/Morrison/DC character, as I could see a really cool Adult Swim style cartoon series with Seaguy.

Adult Swim style cartoon series with Seaguy.

Harvey Birdman + Sealab (personally, I find the sense of human in Birdman very much like Seaguy).

PS: loved your Wolvie.

Grant Morrison New Yorker Talk

"Grant Morrison said he is excited to be writing a new “Seaguy” miniseries as well as “Final Crisis,”"

New Seaguy! Who would've thought!

A Morrison project I can actually get excited about? What is this unfamiliar feeling? Why am I hearing the haunting music of Gareth Gates in my mind? Is it... 2002 again? Did Batman and Seven Soldiers and the Wildstorm relaunch never happen? Oh glorious day!

Well, it was mentioned in another thread, but Cameron Stewart said that he had not heard anything official on it, and since he was co-owner of the property, he might credibly expect to know of such a commission. Unless that's changed, this might be aspirational rather than practical.

I don't know if you could classify the Wildstorm relauch as having happened exactly.

Perhaps if we all wish very hard (and post pictures of ourselves, however badly photo-shopped, in superhero costumes in this thread - in honour of the occasion I'll dress up as the Sub-Mariner) Seaguy 2 might still happen?

He does read Barbelith, of course he does, so, I mean, it's got to be worth a shot, right?

(Not just looking for an excuse here, honest.)

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I had a chat for an hour or so with Grant and Kristan earlier this year at San Diego, primarily concerning Seaguy 2. I can't divulge the specifics but there were some exciting possible developments, and Grant seemed very eager to get the ball rolling.

However, as Haus said, nearly 5 months later and I have still to hear from anyone at DC with a confirmation, and Grant hasn't sent me the script. It's still classified as "I'll believe it when I get a hard copy of a script and a contract." And when I get those you guys will be the first to know.

I'm always glad to see that there's usually some buzzing on various message boards whenever this topic comes up, and it's one of my most frequently-asked questions at conventions and signings, so evidently there's some love for the neoprene goofball. For that I'm very grateful.

Way to spoil our fun, Cameron. with your "talked to Grant" and "you'll be the first to know". Facts have no place on a comics message board. Just as we were getting ready to go on a rampant speculation jag - personally, I was going to claim I'd heard the new Seaguy series was 12 issues long, drawn by Art Adams, Alex Ross, Bill Sienkiewicz and John Byrne, and crossed over into both Marvel and DC's universes unifying both - you go and ruin it.

I for one won't stand for it. I'm fighting back with the claim that there's a multimillion deal been signed for a Seaguy movie, and that hard-done-by heartthrob Nathan Fillion is going to star. Who's with me on an epic casting thread?

It is testament to the series quality and individuality that there's such a hunger for more - very much a cult hit. Certainly one of my favourite comics of the last 10 years.
