I saw that even the Hammersmith and Fulham Council are joining in, in spirit at least-- they are recreating the journey of the messenger who ran to announce the victory at Trafalgar 200 years ago, a suitable enough occasion to hobble about talking about pieces of 8 and asking people to shiver their timbers.
It is perhaps a teeny weeny bit ironic that this celebration of the dawn of Britain's global military superiority (believe it or not) is announced on a page also asking residents to participate in World Peace Week... |
