Does anyone play this game - or is it just a way of collecting models of superheros? Is there a way of expanding the game so that it's more of a RPG?

I have a collection of the figures, and gave a bunch to my nephew (we played one game which he resoundly trashed me at) but apart from that, I only see them around here and there. IS the game popular? Or is it a fad that's died? Any uniques (I've got Darksied and Desaad) you have you'd like to sing about? Are you more of a Marvel or DC fan?

Hero Clix is fun, although a little too expensive for me too really get into (says the guy who used to drop $100 - $150 a week on Magic cards, oy vey!). I know plenty of people who play it, mostly just as a casual thing. It's definitely a good way to kill a weekend or five.

In terms of collecting the miniatures, there are a few I have just so I can scatter them about the office. Hellboy and Judge Dredd sit on my desk and sneer at all who enter.

But oh how I wish I had this: Behold! The Devourer of Worlds!

... my mates and I went through about a year-long phase when we'd play Heroclix every Sunday for hours on end - we dispensed with the suggested 'hour-long-game rule' - drinking vast quantities of lager and wine whilst staring at vast 400 / 500 point teams of heroes and villans - we tried as much as possible to stay in teams e.g. Avengers, Fantastic Four, Defenders etc ... we even went as far as to use the 12ish point thug / petty criminal figures as innocent bystanders and, if you were a hero, you'd be dutybound to try and save them as the villans happily fired trains, cars and lasers at them ...

... indeed, I once had Superman die on me whilst trying to save an innocent woman whilst Doomsday went stomping about the playing field ... good, but extraordinarily geeky, times!

... still play once in a while as well ... and that teleporting 'unique' litle sh#t, Nightcrawler, is still a pain in the ass to kill!
