Totem Polish and Mick Travis Spinning Discs in Soho

Hey there, for the last while me and Mick-Travis have been dj-ing as the F.U.R.Y Bureau in and around London and Cambridge's fairer hellholes and now we have our own night in Soho, yay! I was wondering if any 'lithers in the area might want to check out our steez and have their eardrums smitten by anything from The Cramps, Carl Perkins and Guitar Wolf to the Bonzo Dog Band, Kroke and Jah Mason. There's also a band playing who headlined the Glastonbury unsigned stage whose name escapes me...but all in the same late summer party vein.

It's only about four quid to get in and horridly central to boot, so it'd be great if you could join us.

I know St Moritz, it's a little donstairs dive innit? On the upper part, a little way down from Oxford St?

It's at 159 Wardour St, which is pretty much around the corner from Sounds of the Universe (record shop geek me) and yes it is that unreconstructed sixties dive under a restaurant. It all kicks off at ten with the band on after midnight.

The randomness angle is going to be worked to the hilt now that we've decided to have a set of sixties girl groups and reggaeton. Should be a lark.

The band are called The Deadbeats, this might be a poetry reference *raises eyebrows* and they've played out with the whole White Heat/Artrocker crowd Copey so you can get all the fun of the Buffalo Bar but in the comfort of your own little timewarp of the summer...and geezers in zoot suits and plus we're just better *stamps foot*

Yeah, I'll be running the door for the first hour or 2, and trying to squeeze as much Nuggets/Pebbles era stuff into the set...make thyself known, Mister Copey, and I might try and squeeze in summat from "Killimajiro" too.

Rock on etc

Hope this went well, will this be a regular thing?

God, that was horrible. I blame the Greek.

It's going to be regular, but unfortunately it'll be flitting between Cmabs and London. We're DJing at the ICA on Oct 29th though, which should be fun
