Any of the Montreal crew want to hang with me the week of 11-16th September. I should have the whole day free on Monday the 12th so lunch could be good.

Hi Buk,

I'm up to meeting for drinks and food. If we can get the crowd to meet somewhere downtown for lunch on Sept 12th, then I can attend. Otherwise, I'm just like all the other slave to the wage folk -chained to the office building and the few surrounding blocks close to the office. If this is too inconvenient and not suitable for other peoples' schedules, then do what's easiest for the group. I can catch you at the next gathering. Alternatively, we could all meet for Happy Hour (cheap booze and 2-for-1s, that's incentive right there!) and an early dinner.

Well, there's always something or other going on in Montreal. I don't know what you're into, so here's a link to Montreal Now a website which lists the current events in this fair city. Once you're actually here, I'd also recommend picking up The Montreal Mirror and/or The Gazette, two local papers. TMM is an indie publication and can be found in most restaurants, metro stations...etc for free. TG is the official English language paper of Montreal.

Sure, send your friend to the meet. Since she is new to Montreal, she probably doesn't know where Hurley's is located. Send her to the Hurley's website. She can get the address, images of the pub, and review the menu too. BTW, you may want to give us a description of your friend. I remember that the last meet we had at Hurley's - which was my first Barbelith meet, incidentally - and it was a bit comedy of errors in finding my fellow barbeloids. Rising and Revolving had pmed me a description of himself, plus he stated that he would leave a box of altoids on his table. Well, I got to the pub late, and by that time he had left. I went around looking for a gent of his description and peering at tables, looking for an altoid box in vain. Finding no one of his description, I sat at the bar and ordered myself a lager. Whilst sitting there, enjoying my lager, Strix, Keg, and Gus walked in. Never having met any of them before, I didn't know that they were fellow barbeloids. It was only by sheer chance that I overheard Strix mention "Pooky" did I realise who they were. Anyway, do let us know how to find your friend. It would be a shame if she showed up and we missed her, never knowing that she was probably just sitting a few tables away.

I am going to try and make this. I most likely will be there for 5pm and stay a couple of hours at the most. I will be bringing my son with me and leave early enough for him to settle down for bed at home. I believe that Hurley's allows kids there before 8pm, so we should be okay. They do have (good) food after all.

I have a wonderful new place I just moved into right in town, which is why I haven't had the time to reply to this invite any earlier. I am thinking of a Barbelith house party sometime in a few months when my parents take my son for a weekend again.

For now, I am looking forward to seeing you again, Buk, and meeting Lilly's friend. Of course, I am also looking forward to seeing all you regular Barbeloids again too.
