hey, im pretty new to this whole magic/k thing and i was woundering what kind of interesting fun stuff you guys have done, and can do with magic

so far ive only done a bit of wicca and stuff out of spell books, but this didn't work, then after watching disinfonation when grant morrison was talking about sigils ive started to sigilise and had some possible results

so would it be possible to give me a few examples of stuff that youve done, or tips for some simple stuff that almost always works

cheers

Oh, too many to count, but here's a funny one worth shareing:

I'm at this party, and I wanted to hit some NO2. There are 2 crackers in the house, but I can't find either. I think for a moment, then remember a friend of mine there, who has the almost supernatural ability to always find things people are looking for. He encourages it like a godform superpower, actually. So I know if I can find him, I'll find the crackers. He's my friend. Of course I believe in his paridigm

So I invoke him, to access this power. I pause for a moment, and feel the entire house at once, and know where to go. I dash up 3 floors to a back bedroom where I find where my friend has been hiding out, with both crackers next to him.

He lookes up at me confused and says "I'm so fucked up!" Realizing what I did, I apologize, close the channel, give him back his brain, take my cracker and return to the party.

Moral: Just because someone is building themself as a godform, doesn't necessarially mean that can handle being invoked like one

Ah, I remember when I could actually list the things I've done...but now there's just too many!
I think the coolest thing I've done was have an actual two-way conversation with an Egyptian god. He had the coolest office!
And I think the website Kaosbear offered is chaosmatrix.com

Ingredients:
Sound system
Old church
4x 1210 Technics
large copper pyramid
Hexagonal mandala backdrop,
Copal incense
THC
Hip Hop, Breakbeat and DnB DJ's
Christmas Eve
350 people

instructions
Set up Sound system and position turntables to mimic alter place. Place backdrop and suspend pyramid above deck altar. Secrament with burning incense and visualisation. Continue to cleanse with Copal throughout ritual.
DJ/Shamans produce ritual rythms and beats, with which people use to celebrate and dance with. Build up tempo of music through out night to culmination point. Peak and play a copy of Organ Donor by DJ Shadow, End

(people still talk about the effect 3 yrs later. Individuals could see and feel the pyramid glowing outside of the venue.)
I've got photos, but not able to post here (any suggestions to solve http:// problem)

Next one will be bigger and better. Still working at it, can't rush these things, they have to develop and grow with some massaging.

The flame ignited that night has helped to light many lanterns with which to walk a path.

Magik and DJing, is Shaman and drum
The hexagon inspired backdrop was channelled to me the night before the eclipse in the UK, after what DJ Desire calls the madness night of his life. This included dancing green lights, Stellar presence and full body rushes of love energy.
The next day I was meditating and chanting with the Myan Mystery school at the Michael and Mary ley line node in Bury St Edmunds

I love the idea of using clubs as places of magic...dance being one of the best forms of gnosis...sigils drawn on bodys with bodypaint being slowly sweated away...sigils drawn on the floor with chalk being trampled away under dancing feet..DJs as shamen induncing trance!!!Magic for the 21st C indeed!!!!

The club was also an old church, dude.
Perfect.
I had a rune drawn on my chest for the duration. My favourite way of invoking their power.
If anyone can suggest a suitable location, I have the crew and the intent.
I still DJ at the venue, so will attempt do a new ritual next time. I find it takes alot of focus, so most nights are more subdude

Wow! That is such a cool idea - I never thought of incorporating magick and mixing.

I like the DJ + Decks = Shamen + Drum analogy as well, Jungle Beats and Primal Energy....mmmm lovely.

I'm getting lots of ideas now, like somehow harnessing the energy that certain tunes produce in an entire crowd of people could yield very powerful results....

Yes. Its absolutely all that. Rave is modern tribal shamanic work. When the djs know how to work the energy, it is fantasticly good shit. Especially if they spin some good trance

If you ever get the chance to see Juno Reactor live, do so. Techo + live tribal drumming. I saw them with Alex Patterson once, and it was astounding.

I've got sketches about the kind of dynamics involved and photos to boot. All I need is some advice on how to get the images up on the board. They are not already stored on a home page.

I'm so out of the substance scene. For most of your post I thought you meant 'cracker' as in 'Honky', 'Gringo', 'Fucking white assholes' and was very confused.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

I agree. After seeing one of his sets I was speechless for about 2 hours. One of the few djs that can play everything, have you dancing, sitting, laughing and just generally orbiting the planet.

On the magic front, I've experiemented putting sigils into flyers for raves (as logos or as part of the image). I had a really cool idea about creating a 'magic dancefloor' that didn't exist but fed off the myth of the ultimate dancefloor experience. Alas, I had a falling out with the promoter I was designing for before I could enact it...

I was toying once with a 4 quarter elemental banishing/calling circle for raves. Lemee see, it was something like:

Air/east: The music, acid, fog machines and air to breathe
Fire/south: The lights, speed, energy, heat of the club
Water/west: Unity, Love, water to cool us, weed, booze
Earth/north: our bodies, food, the dance floor
Lady: The Vibe, the club, healing, divinity
Lord: The DJ, promoter, enlightenment, fliers

Er, something like that. Fooling around with archetypes and corespondances. I've haven't quite sorted it out to my liking yet, but there's the general idea.

I'm into astral perception and dream vision quests and kundalini energy. And I can't explain any of it any more, its just some weird stuff that your brain does.I don't know whats real and whats delusional, but I do know that the inner mind is a far more powerful subverter of the consciousness than its normally given credit for.I don't know if its all in my head or if its real.

Here's a new flyer I did for a friend containing a sigil. The sigil is held by the 'extra bonus' girl in a heart. Without giving to much away its to cure a major world disease in one years time.

Okay, I don't know if I should post this or not but whatthehell...

I'm responcible for the year 2000 election fiasco.

My end motives?

Let Bush win because of Florida but let Gore win the popular vote to show people the stupidity of the electoral college system.

"So, tell us the whole story..."

So, basically in October or late September, it was cold and as I was walking to the train station I noticed how miserable everyone looked. So, I decided to do some spontaneous magick and visualized a thermostat. I visualized the thermostat being turned up to around 70 -75 degrees and that's it. I tried not to focus on that anymore. Guess what. By the end of that day and for the next couple of days the weather remained in the 70-75 degrees Farenheit range. It remianed there until I visualized the thermostat being set to "Off."

So while watching the election results in November I decided to mess around with Florida. I visualized the thermostat and kept switching it from Bush to Gore or Gore to Bush. I switched the thermostat when I changed my mind during that periodic night and, believe me, I changed my mind quite a few times... And the results of the election on tv followed whatever I set the thermostat to!

So in the end I decided to make sure that Bush wins Florida because Gore had the popular vote. Like I said before I was trying to give people a good kick in the head to make them realize that a democracy where we do not choose our leaders is bullshit.

I'm amazed how it all turned out.

It is a dangerous thing to mess with the weather. It is good practice though.
I would sometimes practice with one other good friend.
The focus Storms
Sunny days the challenge...
It's purely meditation and the occasional chant helps...
you draw in the clouds, thunder and rain.
the more focus on whichever aspect the more intense that aspect becomes.
it is all in your energy and being able to use it ....
but use it wizely! it can backfire.

Dangerous?

Well, I guess if you go and start telling the weather what to do...

Most of my "cool stuff" weather wise has been Huna/Shamanic in nature. Asking the clouds to move around, or telling the storms that perhaps they could go just slide up bit to the north.

I've got it to the point now where I can usually hold back the rain for a while when/if I need to get things done with a few good visualizations.

I also tend to leave a few quarters to the wind goddess if the turbulence is acting up when I'm riding on an airplane. That once allowed the pilot to find a path and slip unbounced between two thunderstorms.

Weather work didn't work well in New York City. But Shamanic stuff was really hit and miss in that city.

Hey Lionheart, fucking with our old people's voting ability is too easy for a magician of your sort! Can you make it snow in Florida? That would be fucking incredible!

I don't know about coolest, but the most useful were getting drugs and passing drug tests.

I passed a urine test despite having smoked a quater blunt a weekend before. And there was that water bong fiasco, where things worked out better than I thought possible.

christ, i didn't know you were talking about the arts centre , top venue, so atmospheric.
so when's youre next gig, this is something i've got to see. maybye a little barbelith gathering, im sure the london mob could be persuaded to pop down to see some shamanic dance music, and mess with the crowds mind.

Here's the poster for the next gig. Got pissed off today, so I spent the afternoon painting a poster instead of using the computer. Old skool rules.
Anyway I will attempt to dust off the pyramid and find a way of transporting it to the venue (my new car is smaller than the last one)
Expect Hip Hop, Progressive breakbeat, Nu Skool and a touch of Breakstep.

well the image didn't work so I'm afraid you'll have to click here

how did this gig go, i was so pissed off that i couldn't make it, really want to see your show with the pyramid. Youre doing the london gig on the 13th right?, any chance you could rig something up, im sure the magick board will help, it wouldn't be a barbelith gig without a bit of magic.

Rev. Wright
09:44 / 26.03.02
It went rather well. Though the pyramid did not make it to the venue. We got tied up sorting out the technical stuff, which included 5 turntables, 2 mix CD player, 3 mixers and a set of bongos.
It was Herne meets Odin styled night and I certainly lost myself in the 'vibe'.

I'd be up for something 'magick' at the benefit gig on the 13th. I'll bring me Copal.
