I live in Brighton and there's an enthusiastic Petanque club on the seafront. They were recruiting the other day and I'm thinking of joining, as I have fond memories of playing on the beach on holiday. Do any of you play?
My mum went to Marseilles recently, and apparently there it is as popular as soccer here, they're frantic about it and take it really seriously. Any French people care to confirm or deny this? (and perhaps correct 'jouez vous?' in the abstract, mon french est terribluh!)
Are there any equivalents of the 'offside' rule I should know? |
