Named after Coheed & Cambria's first album The Second Stage Turbine Blade, the series is published by Evil Ink Comics. Written by Claudio Sanchez of C&C, with art (presumably) by Wes Abbott. Issue #2 was released quite recently.
First issue sort of introduces the characters and focuses on the events described in the song Time Consumer. Second issue covers the next two songs on the album, Devil in Jersey City and Everything Evil. Apparently.
I must admit that I haven't delved too far into the whole story behind the album, and since the comics are still on my to-read pile I can't say whether they'll make more (or less) sense. A first glance at the art, which is somewhere between so-so and okay with rather nice colouring, reveals aliens, robots, and blue-skinned angels. And a rather disturbing sequence where the main characters Coheed and Cambria murder their own three children. Cheerful.
I think issue #2 can still be bought at various online comics shops, but you may have some trouble getting the first one. I ordered mine at my local comics shop from the Previews. Haven't seen a listing for issue #3 yet.
Hope this helps. |
