I've been living in the east bay for YEARS... Oakland's where it's AT!!!

Issabelle live's in S.F. we've meet up on occasion way back when. I'm sure there's a few others... everyone's got a full life out here for sure, plenty of warehouse type parties still happen. The Cafe scene's bumping and well, everyone's preping for the exodus to Burningman at the moment. The Bay area's home away from home.

I've never been to Burning Man, and I'm afraid that I won't be going for some time yet.
Sentimentity's name gives me a notion though. Anybody up for a Firefly gathering? Possibly for the opening night of Serinity?

*Hits self in the forehead* Ow. I hadn't thought about the Firefly/Serenity business when I came up with the name. I haven't seen either of them yet. I just, you know, like the little glowy bugs... and the idea of a hobbyist breeder of specialty fireflies gave me a happy. Now everyone will attempt to engage me in conversation about a show/film I haven't seen yet, to my great embarassment. I guess I'd better get around to seeing it as soon as possible.

A movie night could be fun, One of the best thearters in the east bay is just down the road. GRAND LAKE, rather than play dumbasss comercials they have an organ player... it just rocks.

I can throw some funding to a party if somebody else feels like hosting - my apartment is roughly the size of a mailbox.

Barring that, I'd like to forward Cafe Prague or Cafe Trieste, both near Broardway in SF, as potential Barbmeet locales. Both serve wine and beer. C. Prague has poetry reading Sunday night. C.Trieste has tiramisu.

If anybody is interested, the Oakland Art & Soul Festival is coming up, Sept. 3-5.

Some of the live acts include Blues Traveller, Aimee Mann, and the Lovemakers.
Also, Liturature and World Music Expos and other stuff.

I have finished the moving and am here in Berkeley, near to Cal (despite not being a Cal student at all). Looks like I will be working and/or schooling most nights, but might be able to make a Barbemeet with enough prior notice. I am so glad to be here and not Florida. And not entirely because of hurricanes.

It is sad that there are no fireflies. I will have to find a couple of robotics hobbyists to build me some. With color-changing LED bulbs for asses.
