Mainly because I'm desperately trying to find copy's of The Temptations '1990' and 'Solid Rock' albums.

Anyone looking for elusive tracks or albums that other members may be able to make a copy of for them, thus combining the lovliness of the Book Swap Central thread and the wonderful Mixtape thread all in one.

What a good idea Benny. Can't help you with The Temptations, though.

What I've been after for years now is the track 'Girl With The Crooked Eye' by ROC. Anyone? Anyone.....?

/loses any chance of being taken seriously on the grounds of music taste ever again/

I'm willing to consider swapping The The's "Infected", a Doors best-of, and various others- if anybody wants to PM me I can give you a complete list.

I would sublet my immortal soul for a copy of Otis Fodder's 2CD compilation Ghouls With Attitude - it was available for download at Oddio Overplay for only a short time in October 2004, and I missed it.

I suppose that, since it wasn't actually released as a phyical object-type CD, I'm not asking for a swap so much as a link, if anyone knows where I can still find it. Please, it's for my poor Mother(-in-law*).

*really

Can't help with anything so far.

I'll go for a long-shot or two for a few obscure indie's: Lost in Hollow by The Belltower... and erm... Technologia by {I think...} Bang Bang Machine.

Ahhh, Agh! Girl WIth The Crooked Eye! I've been wanting that for donks, too. Have a dodgy version off an old Festive Fifty on tape somewhere, but no idea where. And no way to transfer it anyway, at the moment..

There's a whole bunch of that kind of stuff I'd like to get hold of again and not just taped off the radio... Will come back with a list.

Ooh, if anyone can get me anything by 'Jackdaw with Crowbar' (ancient Peel regulars, originally on Ron Jonson records) I'd be chuffed.

Yowza! Guess what I got today, Anna...? A quick Google led me to the ROC site and then Wippit.com, where all their singles can be downloaded (at a small price). I've been tracking down similarly forgotten Festive Fifty gems for a while, so post your list and I may well be able to make you the CD of your dreams...

I'm trying to remember a song called Walk something? I don't know, by a 60s blues band. Might of been british.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Well, my last one was a real long shot... How 'bout this:

Does anyone have a copy of either Jeff Buckley or John Carradine reading E.A.Poe's "Ulalume?" I would be happy (nay, overjoyed) to have one or both. PM me if you can help. Thanks!

Just found the Jeff Buckley version on soulseek and downloaded it. Will PM retrieval information as soon as the FTP is done.

I just remembered this thread. I should get around to going through the listings on my old tapes of radio shows to get the list of tracks I really want...

Laconic, I think the song you're after might be Walk Baby Walk by Johnny Neal and the Starliters (or is it Starliners?) It's on a comp called English Freakbeat Volume One.

Does anybody have an MP3 of Nibiru's "Pissin' In The Parking" they could Email me? I'll...er...give you a copy of one of my own crap tunes in return - s'all I can offer, I'm afraid, but it might be worth a giggle.

Although, if that puts you off, you could just send me a copy anyway and I'd "owe you one".

If anyone has a copy of the eponymous album by the Champion String Band, or knows where such a thing might be found, I'd be intrigued. I have four tracks from it, including the excellent (if, like myself, you're of a folk bent, and don't mind the odd diddle-um-a-di-do) Song of Temptation, and would kill - although probably only small, fluffy creatures, or woodland mammals - to hear the rest.

The rarest recording I can offer is not a song but a radio play, Operation Lightning Pegasus, which has a small but fanatic fan-base.

Sorry to disappoint anybody hoping to hear my (ahem) dulcet tones, but I've just found a copy of the tune I was after via Acquisition. You don't know how lucky you are...
