Spoiler warning:This thread has to do with drug use- so if it's not your thing, don't chastise me...cos you've been warned.

I recently finished reading "Prometheus Rising" and "Cosmic Trigger vol 1" by Robert Anton Wilson.( HIGHLY RECCOMENDED )In the books, he uses Timothy Leary's 8 circuit model of the brain and associates different narcotics to each circuit (- far too much to explain here, so read up!) I was fascinated by the points he made about Keatmine and that astronauts are given K in order to adjust to weightlessness and the rigors of space travel.
2 nights ago, a friend of mine produced a vial of Special K for me to try out. I have tried almost every substance known, except this one...so of course i tried it.
At first, i felt a little tingly, almost like I had a few pints.I ended my night after hitting a few clubs and went home. I turned on the TV and began to watch south park.
All of a sudden, the screen on the TV seemed to freeze. The room I was sitting in became filled with defined little dots. Reality began to fall away, dot by dot, giving way to another scene.
I found myself sitting in a room I find hard to describe other than " very kubrickesque " - It was a living space, but what a place! The drop ceilings were curved, there were risen and sunken areas and- the best part- MOOD PAINT! The walls would alter their color scheme...
The furniture was like I had never seen before yet felt very familliar to me.When I collected myself and realized I was in a new place,I found the door.I exited the room/condo(?) and walked donw the hall to the lift.I pressed the button to the lobby.
I did not pay much attention to the lobby of the building because I had to get outside. It was night, and I wanted to see if I could recognize my surroundings.I exited the building through a pair of silver smoked glass doors.
I was shocked when I reached the outdoors.I gazed upon the most marvelous building I have ever seen.Muck like the pyramids, there were 2 small pyramids and one large in the center, but as one building. The structure was made of Silver mirrored glass and reflected the night sky.
I looked around for other people but I could not make out faces.
It clicked to me then, how to travel. I simply stood still and willed myself to move. The scenery in front of me would rush by in front of my eyes as if I was moving sideways- but I was not moving, the world was.Several stops along the way, I marvelled at this incredible city I was in. The architecture was so advanced yet among the futuristic buildings were older buildings that I did not have chance to visit.
More movement. Then, I was staring at blackness. In the black there was a tint of purple/pink almost like a cloud barely visible yet in motion.
I walked towards the black nothingness.
As I walked for a while, I looked back behind me.Before me nothing, but as I walked, reality would solidify behind me, much like dragging a paintbrush on canvas...

What do you make of it? Just good drugs or something more?

Please share.
Thank you.

I know eh! Rex you are holding out

It is beautiful isn't it. No wonder no one is supposed to do drugs. It is an amazing secret... those other worlds.

Fuck, I want to visit a parallel reality!

Maybe it was your future (waaay future) home...and the trip simply jogged a future memory (if we really are 4D creatures then this should be possible).

I need to try drugs

I am a firm believer.

It's actually just a matter of shifting the asemblage point...but man,was it cool.I have never been anywhere like this.Incredible.

The problem with drugs is when you have an experience like this,it's usually written off as "because of the drugs"

Next time, i'm taking you all with me.

Sounds like fun. Had an experience much like this. I was on DXM (cough syrup) and some kb instead of ketamine, but I have been told the basic disassociative properties are much the same.

Started off a bit tipsy then closed my eyes to try to see some visuals. Bang. Things rapidly changed into a slick future surrounding with me laying still but time zooming forward a la Time Machine. The horrid suburban sprawl of my hometown had been mostly destroyed I could see as I looked from overhead in what must have been a flying car. It had the skewed logic of a normal dream but I am very certain I was awake.

Well, then I passed out after throwing up once again (please don't drink cough syrup) woke up in a terrible depression because none of it was true.

that sounds so cool. I've never tried ketamine, but like Mr Mole I've had DXM a few times, but nothing like this.

apparently in high doses, dissociatives make your mind like a feedback loop, ie. your brain is barely (or in some cases, not at all) stimulated by outside influences and it... ahem.... stimulates itself, creating amazing worlds and alien landscapes.

its like the drugs lets you control the dimmer switch (I'm in love with these things at the moment ) on external stimuli and therefore the mind has to listen to its own babbling making things all strange.

the DXM Faq (here) is a good primer for dissociatives and its REALLY comprehensive.

Does sound great!!

I guess the next step is to try to get there without the drugs!!!

Thats the thing about drugs, as much as i love them, they do tend to batter your physical body a bit over time...

Saying that though...i'm on the lookout for some K...

Although you've also got to bear in mind what you were reading before hand...

Wow, most impressive. I've read about K, and know folks who have used it, but have never tried it myself. That sounds a lot deeper into the realms of disassociatives than I thought K could take you. Must have been quite a hefty dose. How much did you take, if I might ask?

You know, that's a good point, but not applicable in this case.I had not been reading anything for the past few days. The only stimuli was South Park on the tube. But yes your right...

Must have been quite a hefty dose. How much did you take, if I might ask?

Good question.Minute quantity.Maybe 3 small bumps.That's why I was impressed by the effects.Toatal, maybe a 1/4 of a half gram, if that.
I look forward to trying it again but I have the feeling it will never be the same.

Interesting. That's a fairly small dose for most. You must be pretty sensitive to it (or particularly scrawny ).

A word of caution to everyone eager to jump into a K-hole: This stuff is a powerful neural supressant. It takes some time for your nervous system to recover from it. Its an anesthetic. You can damage yourself if you take it too often. Use with care.

That aside, it sounds really neat. Thanks for sharing. I wonder of the similarities between a complete dissociation trip on K and DMT. It would be an interesting comparison, I think. Certainly, better than guzzling Robo.
