I'm wary of this becoming a conversation topic, so I'm going to be pretty rigid in my definition of what it's about. This thread is for you to link to websites that feature photography related in one way or another to fashion or fashions, subcultural or mainstream, that you enjoy looking at for ideas or reference. I also want you to comment on the link and discuss links already posted.

The idea of this is that when Barbe-buddy X wants some new threads, they can pop over here and have a look for ideas. Unless you want to "stick it to the man by wearing a second-hand trenchcoat"(this aside courtesy of someone in the electroclash thread).

I'll kick off with an obvious one: I-D Magazine. This has got lots of nice pictures when it loads up, except they flash by very quickly. Also you have to pay but it's worth a look, because of I-D's commitment to some form of "street" style- you'll see things that people actually wear.

A bit more "in-your-face" and less "realistic" (but still v. interesting):David LaChapelle. Really crazy, over the top sex pop stuff. Bright colours. Very Lord Fanny-esque at times.

So go on, link-a-link-a-discuss.

When I'm looking for the current season I always go the Vogue UK site. It has all of the international catwalk collections on it, Autumn-Winter 2001 to the present season and a vast selection of high fashion designers. You can flick through or start a slideshow and it's just really useful especially for reference purpose. It enables you to gauge common reference points for the range of designers for any period of time, so you can note the common colours, cuts, accessories, catwalk hair etc.

LithiumPicnic is one of my favorite for fetish fasion sites. He's an excellent photographer and the looks he comes up with are pretty great.

I guess this is a bit of a promo post, but I did a site for Michele Laurita and I think she's got a nice fashion portfolio going for her. She does some nice celebrity work as well.

I like the fact that there's a lot of detail to her close-up pics and they can be design-like and minimal at the same time. Her wider shots usually have a bit more contrast and bring in texture in a nice way.

On the other end, I like the work of Thierry Le Goues. Works well with darker-skinned subjects and the b&w photo is so rich.

oh... HintMag used to be interesting back in the day, but I haven't visited it in a while. Might be worth a look.

Foto Decadent is a lovely LJ community dedicated to the posting of avant-garde fashion photography (and they're pretty good at sticking to that). It's great because there's such a mix of things there that I would never otherwise come across.

Any sites for the male side of things? As I'd expected it seems mostly to be female stuff out there, but does anybody know any more with boy's stuff?
