Probably a silly question, but how are you using a 360 controller on your PC, Randy?

I got Vib Ribbon for a handful of change. I bought it straight out of a homeless person's trolley.

Wired ones are USB, so you can plug them straight into your PC. The wireless ones will work with one of these. That wireless receiver comes with the required drivers on a CD, but you can also download them here.

Last year I picked up a Gamecube w/ Resident Evil 4 for 39 squid from Gamestation. Brucey Bonus.

I haven't been to town a lot lately. Can anyone recommend some good places for cheapo GC games?

Diablo II:Lord of Destruction for a fiver, a few years ago when my machine was waaay too old to play teh n3w games. Freedom Force, for around the same price, a week later (and that game was definitely worth full price).

Probably a silly question, but how are you using a 360 controller on your PC, Randy?

Another option is rewiring an existing (original! not 360) Xbox contoller to a "normal" USB plug. Not necessarily for the faint of heart, as some of them wires are damn tiny. Still, a good way to recycle some deprecated tech.

It's surprisingly difficult to get cheap Cube stuff, even second hand. You're in the UK, yeah? You're generally going to be looking at no less than £20 for the machine's best games, used.

Yesterday I bought an original ps2 (the big ones) box for $72. When I got it home, it had a slimline ps2 in it, a copy of FFX, two controllers, two memory cards (an 8mb and a 1mb) and an eyetoy camera.

Today I bought okami, FFXII, sonic gems collection, warioware, kororinpa, god of war and eyetoy groove for $30, total.

It's a closing-down-sale miracle!

Just in case anyone hasn't picked it up yet, Amazon.co.uk have Final Fantasy XII for a bargainous £15.96. That's my bank holiday sorted, then.

I'm feeling rather pleased with myself. I moved into a new flat about a month and half back, and left my ENORMOUS widescreen telly at my old place (I inherited it from an old flatmate for £200 when he moved, and he paid a grand). It's massively heavy, and my SO and I wanted to see what living without a TV is like (answer = awesome). One problem is that the old LCD monitor I had kicking around, which I thought I could use for my old xBox, needs all sorts of crazy, expensive and rare cabling to make them work together.

However, another old flatmate of mine mentioned that her office was being gutted out before they move to a new building, and did I want any of the techie gear they were chucking out?

Why yes, I said. Which is how I come to be the owner of a Sony LCD Data Projector, worth at least a grand, for the total of zero pounds. As in free.

Half Life 2 looks pretty crispy on the wall when it's five feet across.

And Bioshock, when I get me a 360, will look crispier yet. Oh yes.
