Air-powered Car

A car that runs on compressed air.

It looks pretty interesting. Supposedly it produces zero pollution. The "MiniCAT" version starts at a little under 7000 Euros.

Anybody think it'll catch on? Or will the air-powered engine inventor end up at the bottom of a lake like the water-powered engine inventor?

I'm pretty sceptical of the claims being made for it. (However, we should *obviously* attribute any shortcomings in the tech to the global anti-tech conspiracy).

For instance, I just don't see how the burning of fossil fuel combined with compressed air produces "no pollution". Is it being stored so that it can be dealt with later? I'm not sure. Plus, there seems to be an electric component, which isn't being factored into the pollution estimates. Not that that means it isn't better than a normal car, but I start to become edgy when I hear this kind of sales pitch.

Global what-what? If that's a stab at my "bottom of a lake" comment, I was making a joke (admittedly a weak one). If this "we say it's zero pollution but it's more like quite possibly almost maybe zero pollution" car doesn't live up to it's hype then I won't take up the cry of "It's the military-industrial anti-progress conglomerate again! Damn their eyes!"

Or maybe I'm overly sensitive to criticism due to exhaustion. Let's start over. You want some chili? It's quite good.

Four hours charging at the mains seems very reasonable and if you were micro-generating and living in an area with little public transport then it would be a pretty good idea to buy this. I'm interested in how long the parts would last though, it seems complicated and untested technology (as in the public domain rather than offical tests) is often a bit more rubbish than people think it's going to be.

Sorry, Laughing...chilli sounds good.

I would like to know something about the efficiency of this engine, since that is ultimately going to determine how clean it really is.
