I know it's been a while, but there are rumours that this is likely to make the Christmas No 1. Yay! Good? It's fantastic.

theres a link on the nizlopi media site for a poster competition. Download the poster. Photo it in situ. Send in the photo. Nice idea.

Bookies giving it 3-1 I believe for Xmas no.1...

Would be great if it made it. Just call me captain hit-spotter from now on, yeah?

Shit it I came to start a Nizlopi thread, now all of a sudden they are tipped for Xmas #1. I've been spreading the word about John & Luke for a while now, I recommend the album ('Most of these songs are about you') as JCB is a novelty tune really.
They're great live, play barefoot in the crowd and really get everyone going. I once beatboxed on stage with them for a laugh, then had to arrange somewhere for them to stay the night *clutches at vicarious fame*. And I've met Luke's dad, and got the story first hand about the song, he really did have nunchaku and a digger.

Go Nizlopi! I just bought it as a single to give them some moral support, I think I'll enter the poster contest...

Saw this pop up on metafilter last week and I couldn't stop grinning after I saw the video. I even heard it on XFM this morning as I came into work. It's marvellous and well deserves to be Xmas #1.

What's the rest of the album like btw?

Number One, oh yes, keep it up 'til next week boys!

The rest of the album is fricking great, JCB is a novelty tune IMHO. These boys have been all over the UK media, in the Times last week, rinsed out on Radio 1, on a single they've produced themselves without getting shafted by a record company (who had helpful advice like 'lose the double bass it's too weird').

I think it's a bit silly, really. It seems to be attempting to go out of it's way to not be cool, but just ends up being something devoid of interest. It lacks the humorous juxtaposition of previous "comedy" songs like Amarillo (Mexico + Bolton = pathos).
